    • Saddle-bags. Get Off Ur Ass or Cramster or...

      Hello!

Been an RE rider for some years now and owned the Cramster saddle-bags. Sold them off to a friend some time back and now am looking for a replacement.

Cause I am getting the CBR250R in a couple of days and want something that will fit the Ceeber and my Thunderbird also. Somehow, I think that Cramster will be my last choice since I've not really had a great experience buying from there!

Guess, i have to do the same thing. Walk around wearing it. For one simple reason, i have tried almost 4-5 backpacks but it just won't go in any one of those. Plus you have very aptly said, if someday i crash without my riding/gear, first thing is i would feel like an idiot to leave them back home. Second is, my parents would scold me for not using the gear ( ask me the reasons, i gave before buying one). Third is, everybody around will laugh, saying i am a poser who bought riding gears for fun. Don't want all this!

No locker in colleges! not even a designated chair.

riding boots is not practical to wear daily. And most of all, way out of my budget. I am planning to get a pair of knee-guards asap. That is one thing that makes me feel stupid every time i ride with my jacket. Knees are first to get bruises in any kind of spill. Took me too much time to find out.

Once i am as brash and careless as you guys are to wear riding gear to malls/shopping, i am sure i won't think twice about gearing-up for any place.

Thanks for all your valuable suggestions guys!
in my office, whenever i leave for home in the evening wearing my knee guard & jacket, ppl laugh & say, "are u going for a war?"
who will explain those idiots that in the event of an accident no one is going to come & share the pain of my bruises & cuts.

        • @Shivank - Here's an option for you to store your gears; get a tail bag something like this

It can hold all your gears + your study materials & some of the tail bags offer the convenience to carry it like a backpack for a short period of time.

          • Guys if I get an open face cruiser helmet, wont it be uncomfortable in the highways when sunlight falls directly on the face for a long time? More chance of sun burn too.

              Yes.

It will also be uncomfortable if you have a fall since the possibility of you hurting your (sun burnt) face is higher with an open face helmet.

How are they in the non-rainy seasons?

A wet cloth ought to do the trick.

Is the riding gear store near urvashi theater better or is orion motors better?
                          Thanks.

I'm using waterproof boots (SIDI Vetigo Rain). Have used them for about 1k Kms, & it is absolutely no hassle in upto medium hot climate.
Yet to test it in extreme hot climate though.

Gore-tex layered (waterproof) boots are said to be better as this membrane is breathable, but boots with this lining are more expensive.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

                            • Forgot to update, got my round #1 of gear upgrades delivered and they are awesome. Phew! Mesh is such a relief after 3 years of using a textile jacket

Here's an image linked from FB (so not sure if everyone can see it)

The AGV is super silent and bloody aerodynamic, there is no shake induced even at speeds excess of 130!

Define medium hot? Which part of India and which month?

I am thinking of not ordering waterproof boots, instead will get waterproof overboots and use it over a regular vented riding boots!

                                The gear looks good. Congrats!
What is lined up in round #2?

                                Medium-hot in weather in & around B'lore, from Dec-Apr, & July.
Faced a couple of heavy showers too, & the boots were completely waterproof, offering immense grip even on wet tarmac.

I'm not sure how comfortable would overboots be. Riding boots by themselves are not very comfortable during the initial stages, and offering an additional layer of boots might compromise grip, agility, etc.
Any pics of the overboots you are looking at?
