Hi, Guys
I Own Pulsar 150 dtsi, last week I left my Bike for servicing and T+cone set replacement at BHAVNA BAJAJ
Sai deep apt, sec.-26 A, Kopripada,
Palm beach rd., Vashi, Navi Mumbai.
when I came to collect my bike in the evening I notice that Bike isn't washed Properly, when I asked a supervisor
about it he said it is washed properly but the color of your bike is becoming fade that's why you think so,
next day rear tyre got punctured so puncturewala opened and then I saw neither the break shoe isn't cleaned nor the wheel
bearing is lubricated,so I checked the entire bike and came to know that apart from T+coneset work and engg oil change that
B***d didn't do any other work and Still Charged me Rs.1500/-
when I approached him to complaint about it he and the manager said we don't do all the things in paid servicing so I threatned
them that I'll file a complaint against them to Bajaj Auto, they said It's ok because We did what
Bajaj auto tell us.
so people from Vashi and Navi Mumbai Beware of these B***ds...

Guys my bike Pulsar 150 ug3 needs a complete engine overhaul... I burnt my piston rings.,and even bore is weak.. now my problem is if i go with local mechanics., they might not replace new bore and piston assembly (which i prefer) and they just rebore it and get it in the bike fit.. happened to my friend once..Hence i want a mechi who is genuine and can do it pretty good and economical..

In castrol bike zone Chennai., these guys Asking 1.5k for labour charge apart from spares which we have to put along with tax ..

Now why i prefer local mechi is due to the tax.. in bajaj showrooms a new pulsar bore costs 2300/- but when i asked in person to buy bore in a shop of bajaj they told 1800/- .. when i asked again the same to the showroom guys they just said it was tax Now for a bore itself they ask tax of abt 500/- then how much they would rob for complete overhaul ?? Hence pls help

my bike s engine in a bad condition now.. abv 5rpm., smoke oozes out like hell need to get it as fast as possible done

you can get it done by any local mechanic, but trusted one.
tell the mechanic to show you all the parts in original sealed packing before installing. that should solve your problem that instead of new block piston he will use old block with reboring.

otherwise also a new block is easy to identify from outside, by its fresh looks and color, an old one even if washed n number of time with petrol or whatever can not look similar

my personal experience, a rebored block is sometimes as good as new block piston, sometimes even better. it all depends on the guy doing reboring-how good he is. i have done engine overhaul 2 times -- once with new block piston and next with an oversize one and the kind of seal i got with rebored block ---i tell you man, new block piston set was nowhere near to that. but before doing that, i was also not sure how good the reboring job will be--but i trusted my mechanic fully and he sure did not disappoint me. so it all depends on mechanic.

one very impostant thing, its better to get the block piston assembled in front of your eyes. and tell the mechanic to use some oil before inserting piston into block. many times mechanic neglect this part or forget due to time, but it may ruin your engine. also sometimes mechanic use -old used engine oil--do not let him do that as old engine oil always has metal particles that damage block rather than provide lubrication. even if you have to purchase and give him oil (although only few drops are required)--do it, but never let him slip piston into dry bore or with used engine oil.

purchase and keep a piece of soft cloth with you, in case either block or piston gets even little bit dirty (either by keeping it on floor or anything), clean it with a new piece of cloth and not with a dirty cloth that mechanics use. cleaning it with dirty cloths will only ruin it further. i was rather surprised when my mechanic asked me to purchase a cloth of Rs.20/= to clean the piston, but he insisted, and believe me its better to spend on cloth than being unsatisfied with rebuild.

believe me, i have seen people getting new block piston ruined in no time or not getting desired results because of above two reasons...

Thanks a lot man .. you gave me good info on these things ... i ll tell the mechi to give the list of spares to be got and i ll myself buy him and give .. think that shd work out but i fear wheather he uses it or not .. Cant trust anybody

Reddy & Co - Awesome mechanics

I found Reddy's a good place . They are a team of 3 - Reddy , Janardhan and someone else . I got a 5 year old TVS Apache serviced and the bike feels as good as new . They gave me an estimate of Rs 7500 ( hmmm...... let me just say it was never maintained ) and the final bill was Rs 6600 . Where do you find a place where the final bill is lower than the estimate ???
The mechanics were friendly and replaced only the parts you wanted or were in dire need of replacement !!!!

Pros - Excellent servicing , Good knowledge of bikes
Cons - Spare parts are slightly on the expensive side , They may take more than a day for servicing .

The spare parts are a tad costlier than the authorized showroom but when you add the labour charge it almost is the same except for a few parts like the disc brake kit (whole set) .


If you want a reference just mention the guy with the old Apache !!!!!

If your coming from Andheri through the Western Expressway , take the left from the flyover that's after the Goregaon flyover (the one with the signboard to take a left for Goregaon ) , then drive straight and ask the way for Goragaon Police Station or Cinemax or Siddharth Nagar .

If your coming through SV Road , ask for Goregaon Police Station or Siddharth Nagar .

If your lost you can call Reddy , he'll come and pick you up from near Cinemax or Paribhodan ground .

Hi thumpers,
Please suggest any good RE service centre for my TB 2004 model near old Airport Road bangalore. I have been going to teknik motors (indiranagar n sarjapur) since the last one and a half years ... but now i m fed up of those guys .. the teknik motor guys charge too much and do too little ... The only good guy there is Mr. Anand .. but sadly he doesnt service the bulls since he is the owner ... Please help me out guys ... i came back from leh one month back n still searching for a mechanic ...

I stay in Mumbai (Borivali) and want to get my bike (Honda Stunner) serviced. I have heard a lot of good thoughts about Reddy's and would like to know if they would be able to service my bike. i.e. they don't specifically cater to any brand of bikes.

Also, I think my bike doesn't need any parts to be replaced etc as it's in a very good condition, given that, how much would be the total cost of getting the bike serviced at Reddy's ??
