Bangalore - Good mech for RXZ rebore/service

I serviced my RXZ (4 speed) at Perfect Riders and they said it actually needs more work, like engine reboring, clutch replacement and some other servicing work related. The bike wasn't used for several months before that. The quote given for this work was around Rs.9000. The bike doesn't feel that great while riding, and so I feel it does need some good repair/servicing to be done. It has already been through one engine reboring several years ago and I wish to not waste money on work that's not satisfactory in the long run.

Question is, which mechanics or service stations in Bangalore do I go to for a good job? I want my RXZ to be repaired/restored well.

You can try Ray's Tuning Point in Koramangala Block 1. I've had no major work done, but I have seen RD350s and a couple of superbikes in his garage in addition to the Pulsars and Yamahas.

You'll have to go towards Jakkasandra Bus stop from Wipro Signal. His shop is on the way.

Service Centers

Couldn't find a thread having this stuff so started a new one.
Mods please approve if its good to go ahead, or else merge with an existing one.

I guess we need a place to discuss the best available service centers, service guys, mechanics and emergency help ( like puncture guys ) in each town for all the bikes.

I was out on a trip last week right after getting the bike serviced, had just started off and got a puncture after riding 40kms at around 6am . Could have used some help at that time if some local xBhpian could have provided some info. So felt the need of this thread.

Starting off with my query -- I need the best service guy/center for pulsar 220 in Mumbai. Getting it done at Sai Service Borivali till date. Any feedback suggestion about this center or any other is highly appreciated as I am not quite satisfied.

Looking for a good mech for my Honda Unicorn in Pune

Been having a lot of overheating issues for the past year or so. Was berarble in winter but now it is excessive. The bike heats up and starts knocking after 4-5 kms in the afternoon. I suspect that the valve stems are sticking to the valve guide. Last year i had a compression loss after the bikw was not used for aweek. The mech did mention something about stuck valves. Others added that ethanol added in petrol is to blame.

Good mechanic in Pune.

Shirish Joshi is a good mechanic. I was suggested his name by our famous Dilip Bam and Shirish has lived up to his name. He is meticulous and comes with a notebook to notedown your queries and gives you a call once his work is done. He has normally quite a good number of regular customers.

He is the only mechanic I have seen who stops us from replacing parts! Whatever part you tell him, he will tell that it still can be used for some x kms! My friend was suggested to replace his silencer for some minor holes from other mechanic and this guy did the same job for few bucks and the silencer is still going on. I was suggested to overhaul the engine, Shirish suggested me to add engine additives and decarbonize the engine rather than opening it. He charged me 92 rs Mrp for replacing bearing and labour cost 8 rs! some years back. In that 8 Rs labour he also changed the front tyre which was wrongly fitted (in opposite direction).

I would recommend him for sure. Lot of good reviews from many persons heard before.

If i am not wrong this guy is in Pune, correct? does he work on R15?

Do any one know such a good Mech for R15 in Aamchi Mumbai?
