    • ^^I never Benchmark it. Just wanted to know how much it can be OC'ed to. So did that. Did not have the heart to go further and the stock 2.67 is MORE THAN enough to handle gaming. So currently keeping it at stock!!!

Phenom 2 x4 are the most overclockable processors here (dont know abt i7) and I guess the most VFM too.

        • Yeah, they very much do!!! With these processors on good boards and enough RAM, the graphics card is the ONLY bottleneck. Keep it updated and any gaming console can be beaten! I prefer gamespot.com for latest gaming reviews.

Same here man! IGN is too biased...

Coupling cards too is a very good way of updating the graphics hardware, instead of buying a X2 of the same card cause:

            * it turns out to be cheaper
            * better performance (depends on cards)

So, outworldly maniac, make sure you buy SLI/CrossFire motherboard.

With very cheap current hardware you can beat both the Xbox 360 and the PS3.
The PS3 has a GPU based on the NV47 Chip (Nvidia GeForce 7800 Architecture) with a fixed memory size of 256 MB.
The XBOX 360 runs an ATI unit codenamed C1/Xenos which is something similar to the ATI X1000 series GPU's. It's a 128-bit card.
Both consoles have old hardware. The only reason games look so great on them is because the games are heavily optimised for the consoles, while this is not done for the PC's.

then why on earth people buy gaming consoles in such large numbers
infact the new xbox 360 was out of stock in a big asian place ( dont remember the name ... probably hong kong ) only in the first week of its release

You could get a good card like an Ati 4850 for around 7-8k.There are a lot of options above that if you can spend some more.
I changed my old card after three years and it still runs fine. Can play all the latest games too.

It means that the motherboard is capable of running two graphic cards at the same time. The boards that can run two Nvidia cards are called SLI motherboards while the motherboards that can run two Ati cards are called Crossfire motherboards.
And yes there are a lot of brands in motherboards.Good and bad.MSI,Asus and Gigabyte are the good ones.

Maybe your motherboard is quite old and doesnt support the new cards. You will have to upgrade your whole system if you want to play the latest games.
The SLI motherboards only allow two similar type of Nvidia cards to run together. So if you are thinking of two cards then you will have to buy the same. Crossfire motherboards allows you to run two different Ati cards. In both the cases you will get a performance boost.
In my opinion, go for a single good card now.

If you buy Nvidia cards, you can put 2 different Nvidia cards (One faster and other slower) in the same system (Motherboard) but one card will play as a graphic card (Faster card) and other card will play as a Phsx card (Slower card). (Caution: Both the cards have to be 8000 series or above)

                                Hope this info helps you...
