Oops sorry!!! Forgot that our mod is a hard-core nVidia fan!!!
I have nothing against nVidia Aryan, its just that their latest 9xxx and GTX series are bad!!! If they shift to the latest 45nm(IIRC) process of ATi, why wud I bother!! Competition is anyway good for us!

but does it run GTAIV????(full rendering) that was my doubt.... as for every point that is a capable card, unfortunately GTAIV requires more.... it calculates the graphics based on the amount graphics memory required and it has only 512MB.... the reason i referred to it as puny was because GTAIV wont crank up my graphics more than a particular point, it simply wont(is this a problem only on my PC or is it experienced by all?)... added to it i have only a 15"...
there is something like resource usage... if i exceed the redline, it comes back to the yellow zone....

I dont like the GTA series, so anyways.....
Its is always and has always been FPS. As long as it plays any damn FPS, am fine with it! If it does not, there is always the 5xxx series that comes calling!!

anyway, i've jus come out of the third person shooter and entering into first person... could u suggest me some games????? i've played crysis, crysis warhead and call of duty and like them all... any more suggestions in such genres???

FEAR, FEAR 2, FAR CRY, My all time favourite - DOOM, HALO - 1 and 2, HALF LIFE(A bit old, but good physics and graphics), DEAD SPACE(Yet to try but great reviews).

Am sure the others can suggest a lot more!

@aparajith: we being ATi users, forget one thing that 3d mark is actually physx supported(or enabled).forget resolution our cards are somewhat gonna go low on scores here.

take for example cryostasis which relies on physx for cloth and water simulation.or railworks(rail simulation).where ever physx is default enabled our FPS and relative score is gonna drop.

the difference with mirrors edge was that we can turn off the physx system.

but u know and i know how the GDDR5 interface works with a 256bit bus.
card temps is another factor specially on loads..


EDIT: forgot to add that OVERLORD II is out.ghostbusters was already out..eagerly waiting for street fighter 4.

its like not everytime FPS counts.you have to check ur card temps.if constant high..time for new card!

also Nvidia is just like HH..both highly skilled for rebranding!

Also try Cryostasis. Its good. Quite slower than traditional shooters but it has gameplay innovations.

Try Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2. Also try Stalker if you can.(Only recommended for 2GB and above RAM users )

Edit: I am an Ati fanboy too but that's mostly because two of my earlier cards were Nvidia (XFX) and they cooked themselves up within a span of two months. After that I switched loyalty and picked up the red babe.....uhm...err the Ati X1800GTO and never looked back at the green side again. That was one hell of a card and still is. It's still able to play the latest games at decent settings.

should one upgrade his computer ---- meaning selling old one and buying new
getting 3.5 k for it so no selling
or to go for the PS3 or xbox

i have the tv that will suit needs for the gaming consoles
but what you guys say?

^^A console anyday. Saves u lot of hassles. No frequent upgrades necessary and so on. Especially the XBox 360 is a good console! Someone here has already got it.... Check around!
