One question to all Prototype players:

What is the combo for unleasing devastator attacks on pc? I am getting quite a beating from Greene

...for i7 processors, you will need to go with X58 boards, you cant go with P5. X58 are expensive. Also when you have i7, its advisable to go for DD3 RAM.

BTW, i5 processors are available i5-750 is available

check this site for chennai prices http://www.deltapage.com/

            is that a trick question??

around the 2000-3000 range for the original.

the other rate differs from place to place, individual to individual.

                  • I need some inputs picking out a home computer for my parents. I want it to be sleek and fast, main usage would be internet browsing, some video playing etc. All the same, I want it to be fast and good enough for the next 3 years. I will not be upgrading this machine in the meantime, so it needs to be future proof to an extent.

Can anyone suggest a brand/line of desktops so that I can pick one out? Budget is no restraint.

                    • How does this sound?? Core2Duo E7500 or Quad Core Q8400, DDR2 2 or 3 gig ram, 250~320 gig hdd depending on the usage, vista or W7 if possible. This should not be too expensive might come somewhere around 25K to 30K depending upon the peripherals you might buy like the screen and speakers. Dell is supposed to be good where they come and service your comp at regular intervals or something, HP can also be a good option but in both these cases you have the assurance of a genuine OS, because half the problems we face can be solved with the use of a proper OS. But i suppose others here can give a much detailed report on your queries

i think that you are looking for whole set and not for assembled pcs..
my advice would be just go with dell
and if budget is not a constraint then here is a model Dell Studio XPS Desktop

Ultra fast Intel CoreTM i7 processors
                        the Intel Turbo Boost technology
                        tri-channel DDR3 memory

and seeing the features i dont think it will need a upgrade for 2 to 3 years.

                        • ^^ I seriously doubt anyone who don't need the computer for other than as per Rossiters words "internet browsing, some video playing etc." would want a i7, DDR3 ram scorcher, it's way too powerful if you're not putting it to it's full use, while it is future proof it might prove impractical and might be under used

I would suggest assembling a PC from a shop you trust with the following components.
                              Mobo:Core i5 750 - 10.2k
                              Mobo: Gigabyte P55M-UD2 = 6.5k
                              RAM: G.Skill Trident 2x2GB DDR3 1600 ->5.8k
GC: MSI GTX 260 twin frozr - 10.5k
                              Cabinet:CM 690 / 600 - 4k
                              Monitor:Benq G2412 HD = 12k
                              HDD:Seagate 7200.12 1TB - 4k
                              Keyboard:Logitech MM KB = 400
                              Mouse:Logitech MX 518 - 1.5k
                              LG/Samsung DVD RW - 1.2k
                              PSU: Corsair VX450 - 4k

You can skip the graphic card for now and get a DX 11 card when they are out.
