Just two days back, I topped up 1850/- and 500/- for my car and bike, respectively.

The prices of premium fuel will changed after the stocks are cleared.

Filled Shell Super Unleaded(SU) on monday for the first time in my Activa. It was Rs 54.95/litre. I saw last week Shell SU was somewhere around 58.95. Now its on par with the indian premium fuels after the revised rates. Premium fuel is 54.65 and normal is 51.17 in HP Bangalore.

@all: I do not know whether this post belongs here or in the fuel thread...but since this is in direct context with a 220, I posted it here...

I have been usin Speed 97 for all this time (5 tankfuls). We are planning a trip this month and the place that we are riding to does not have any Speed97 outlet...so I thought of trying out the Shell 95 Octane, which is available on our travel route.
So here is my review of how the Shell fuel compares with Speed97.

                            Price:
                            Shell 95 53.25/lit
                            Speed97 70.00/lit

                            Performance:

Speed97: With this brew in my tank, I had power on demand...the 220 does have monster power but the fuel does really make a lot of difference. The engine runs cooler and throttle openings are less. The 220 never detonates or pings so could not really attribute any points on this one. Many people that I have met (who were told that I use this fuel), criticized me for the use of this fuel saying that this is needed only in superbikes where the compression ratio is high. I simply ignore them and use it. (Lesser known fact...I have used this fuel in my 150, Pleasure, Kinetic Honda and Bajaj Spirit too)

Shell 95: There was a fairly unnoticeable difference in the exhaust note (maybe psychological). No measurable difference in acceleration. No drop of power. No detonation/pinging. The fuel is nice and very much acceptable.

Verdict: With a INR 16.75 difference in price and similar quality, I think I will keep usin the Shell 95 for my Predator.
I will write a detailed report after my ride later this month!
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

@Niranjan : Shell 95 ?? wats tat ? the Shell Super unleaded which i am using is 91 octane with additives and its at Rs.52.xx .
This is surely far better petrol than any other i have used till date .
can u throw some light wats shell 95 ? is it with additives ?
I have not seen this petrol at the shell petrol pump here.

EDit : did some google and found this ...
Shell Unleaded 95 petrol has a minimum Research Octane Number of 95. This high octane enables optimum engine efficiency and makes Shell Unleaded 95 petrol the preferred fuel for use in modern high compression and knock-sensored vehicles.
Shell Unleaded 95 petrol contains a unique, new generation performance additive, which protects the engine from build up of harmful deposits. This improves performance by keeping clean fuel injectors, carburettors and inlet valves and leads to consistently good gasoline/air mixture preparation, better combustion and better driveability. The result is better fuel economy and reduced maintenance. Shell Unleaded 95 petrol is dispensed through a red marked hose, which has a small diameter nozzle.
The volatility of Unleaded 95 petrol is varied throughout the year to provide good cold weather starting in winter and to prevent vapour lock in summer.

Strangely this is not available in mumbai's Shell outlet, will have to ask them.
