Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Thanks a lot for your advice. I've decided to look for alternatives as finding a mechanic who knows projector stuff is too much of hassle. I'm looking at fog lights and changing stock lights with led one's. What do you suggest for improving lighting of R15.Originally posted by Sird View Post

Hyderabad... just in case the location isn't visible on the left :POriginally posted by Sird View PostShare your location too, people can help better that way. A lot of lights are cheaper locally than it us on Aliexpress / amazon.

Hi Guys,
Have anyone installed projector lamp on any of New Gen Machines with AHO?
I have a plan to install on my new NS200 (2017).
But my doubt is how durable those with AHO (Automatic Headlamp On)!
or you guys can suggest me a brand for durable Projector Lamp.
What are you guys thinking about Projector Lamp on Machines with AHO?

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Hi guys,
Looking to buy an auxiliary light for my hero impulse. What all should I check out before buying?May the sun rise infront of me,
the rain fall behind me and the wind follow me.
May the angels guard my travels for they know what's ahead of me.
Keep me safe through rolling hills, swirling turns and bad roads.
Let the moon's light guide me through the night.
Lord, thank you for letting me a Biker.
Amen.

Got my new lights done! It's a 6 led work light, costed me about 1200-1300 and 600 for welding the clamp and wiring.May the sun rise infront of me,

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
I got CT100B, 1 year old. 12V, 35/35w Electrical: https://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcy...aj-ct100b.html
Stock headlight is too bad, been using for 10,000 km so far and never been happy with it . I want to change just the lamp/bulb to something better. Any recommendations ? Anyone did it in Hyderabad ?
Also, why there is so much talk about converting AC to DC ? Do I need to do same if I just want to change the lamp ? LED requires DC or what ? Can you please point to some post that explains all that. So far I have read more than 200 posts but can't find the explanation.
I found the solution in these 2 posts:

My solution is here:

Re: How to convert full dc..
Why does everyone goes deep into the coils. Coils are the last thing I would touch. To change AC to DC just use a aftermarket rectifier circuit. No cut no paste just a circuit with fuse to check excess current.Originally posted by mukeshg705 View PostI have two bikes one is platina nd other is pulsar..
I want to change AC/DC to full dc in platina..
In platina stator coil there is 6 wires coming out.. what to do??
Cheerio!
Ride safe \m/

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Here is what I have done with lights on my Yamaha R15S:Originally posted by vinay21987 View PostThanks a lot for your advice. The stock halogen headlight bulb has been replaced with LED's. The LED is drawing around 30 W per bulb and I have kept both LED turned on for low beam. They have voltage alternator in them. The parking lights have been changed to LED as well and draws less than 1 watt per bulb. The LED fog lights draws around 20 W per bulb and is fixed with a switch. The LED fog lights turn on only when I turn on the parking lights. All of these bulb has been sourced from local market in Mumbai. I have attached the pics of how bike looks with fog lights.
I have couple of questions:
1) Want to know the max wattage that should be drawn from the battery for R15. How much of watt is drawn by indicators, tail light bulb and number plate bulb. Can I change the tail light and number plate bulb with LED's.
2) Does connecting both headlights for low beam have any negative in long run (I do not use high beam anyways except only for pass). I do not use fog lights much in the city, only in few places on my route. I have installed it for night rides on highway. Only on first day of installation, I had to crank the bike twice to start it, after that it has smoothened out and now on first crank it starts off without any issue.
Need feedback of experienced folks with bike lighting.

Not sure about max wattage but the indicators are drawing 10W each and tail lamp is 10/21W. (10W normal/21W brake)
Getting a LED tail lamp of R15 holder type has been a pain in Pune, not sure about Mumbai.

I'd say probably no, not much of a power draw issue with low wattage LEDs but the heat generated by them.
Good stuff. My replies in Bold.
What brand/model is those fog lights by the way? And by the looks of it, they look pretty wide setup from here, won't they be interfering in filtering the narrow traffic of Mumbai?
I've been meaning to pull this trigger since long but first work and now rains have got me down. My exact plan is to install spot LEDs in place of front indicators and move indicators to some place else, probably in place of the parking lamps which IMHO are useless. Lets see when do I do that.
Regards.

The fog lights are chinese made I guess (product had a name displayed as HJG on the box which is I read as HJC first time aroundOriginally posted by PrinceCruise View PostGood stuff. My replies in Bold.

). A friend of mine got it from local Kurla market in Mumbai. The fog lights are not wide. They are marginally wider than indicator by around 2-3 cm. So far it has never intervened with filtering. Also, the LED headlight has fan inbuilt in it, so once I start LED the fan would also start to cool it down.
You can move the indicators to mirror by getting a indicator integrated mirror, in my opinion it will look cool.

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
That was my first choice but I don't want to order those things online if available and getting R15 type mirrors with indicators locally has deemed futile so far.Originally posted by vinay21987 View PostYou can move the indicators to mirror by getting a indicator integrated mirror, in my opinion it will look cool.
I'll see what can I do here.
