Re: HID on P200
You can get better throw lights like OSRAM Nightbreaker or Philips Xtreme Vision, both are good bulbs and lasts well and light throw is comparatively better than the stock ones..Originally posted by devils_friend View PostI just want to change the bulb with better illumination. Dont want to do any other mods to it. The cops out here will surely catch me with the white light.
Any recommendations that can be run on stock battery?

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

The yellowish tint of light throw is always good for rain.
While the whitish tone is useless.
These Osram and Philips are standard quality bulb. They will serve good in rainy nights too as compared to your stock bulb.

The same bulb can be used in all season or not?
A noob Q, one bulb is used for low & high beam?
. Read in other forum about someone using two bulbs, one for high beam and other for low.

There are two kind of Bulb.
In fz it uses the same bulb for low & high both.
While in P220, try have separate bulbs for both.
So better search a bit & assure the shopkeeper you need For Fz (high &low beam both should work).
Even HID's are of two type
1. Xenon HID : 1 work either low or high.
2. Bi-Xenon HID : high & low both in 1.
And higher in price than Normal.

Re: HID on P200
Going to fix two fog lamps on the crash guard of my RTR 180 which is AC..
From what I know the fog lamps are also AC..
So my question is will it work fine?
I have seen RTR's with fog lamps.
Anything to look out for?"Vibes transmitted from crank shaft to frame, then through the bearings of the head stock and into the stem where it meets the triple clamp and into the clip-ons where it is greeted with great pleasure by my hands"-ratfighter mod rtr

Check the voltage requirement before buying and installing Fog light.
Calculate the Total Watt your Bike already taking from battery and how much its gonna take with Fog light.
Because if battery is happy with fog light , then good to go.
Else, you have look for alternative.

Re: HID on P200
Is there anything like AC fog lamps..connected directly to dynamo?
Suppose I don't use my head light, instead opt for using fog lamps alone..will I save the watts for head light?Or do I have to disconnect it?
Is crash guard a good place for fog lights?Thats were it looks cool, how much practical..i have no idea."Vibes transmitted from crank shaft to frame, then through the bearings of the head stock and into the stem where it meets the triple clamp and into the clip-ons where it is greeted with great pleasure by my hands"-ratfighter mod rtr

Most common Auxiliary Fog lamps use H3 bulb which is 55watts. For 2 fog lamps you need extra 110watts. Even if you can find 35watt H3 bulbs which are rare, you will be needing 70 extra watts. So before going for extra lights, find means to increase your bikes current. I don't know how to achieve that without converting to Full DC.....Originally posted by albyjose View PostIs there anything like AC fog lamps..connected directly to dynamo?

How is this on an Ac twister?
EDIT:This twister is running on hid's too//so it might be DC....http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...d-etc-378.html
Can the fog lamps be used as an alternative..when the headlights go out somehow?
R15 being full DC have no problem i think..Originally posted by ghostofsparta View PostIs the fog lamps idea possible for R15 mate???Last edited by albyjose; 05-29-2013, 11:17 PM."Vibes transmitted from crank shaft to frame, then through the bearings of the head stock and into the stem where it meets the triple clamp and into the clip-ons where it is greeted with great pleasure by my hands"-ratfighter mod rtr

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Got these for my RTR..I been riding for months without head light(projector+hid on AC set up with a dc convertor)..
Funny thing is that no wattage, volt requirement is written on it.Well an auto's photo was there on the cover..
Also 2 wires.live and neutral would mean that it is AC..
I am a total noob when it comes to electricals,my mechanic who promised to fit it is busy.
I want to use this lamp instead of my headlight for time being.
Any help please?
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
Go for DC conversion if you want HID on RTR..or be prepared to roam around in dark with no headlight like me
