  • Ape RR price

    Hey guys,

Have finally turned my Pulsar 200 DTSi to be converted into full DC.

The guy's quoting 1400 for coil winding n Ape RR with labour and fitment
What's the price of the genuine Ape RR? And how much for the Delhi one? Also how to tell them apart?

Can someone please quickly reply? I wanna make sure Im gettin the genuine and not the Delhi made.

    Thanks

      • Thank you very much for the prompt response buddy!

Have told the mechanic that I'll be getting it myself as he said the one he'll get 'thoda alag hai'. Since this is not a cosmetic mod, I'm paranoid about any sub standard stuff goin in.

Hunting for the original one now. Will post pics as I get it.

No 2: if you stick to 35w hid just make sure to convert your bike to full dc setup.. No other mods needed as stock setup can handle the load ( Hid draws more current only to initialise, after that it draws less current than the standard halogen bulb )

No 3: i will explain afaik.. In a full dc bike the electricals get dc current directly from the battery and the battery gets charged with the help of stator coil and RR..
Whereas all other bike like your victor i guess uses pulsating dc. Here the current produced by the stator coil and RR is rectified and given to all electricals.. This is also dc since it is being rectified but its voltage varies continuously with respect to the rpm. Thus your headlight intensity varies with rpm while other things such as horns and indicators get current from battery
As its voltage varies continuously its known as pulsating Dc.
          Hope you understand

No 4: already answered in 1

          Cheers
Thank you both so much and sandeep for that detailed explanation and Lijo helpful as always.

Will go through that thread for more info

          Cheers!

I want to upgrade from stock bulbs(not HID). Options are :
              1) Phillips Diamond Vision - 5000K
              2) Phillips Crystal Vision - 4300K
              3) Phillips Extreme Vision - ????

Which one out of these is the best? I need a whitish look of the light when looked from opposite side. Can do with yellowish throw of light. Please suggest guys. Thanks in advance.
hey ive using extreme visions on my duke 200
the tinge of the colour is yellow only
the low beam spread is really good
and gets very very little whitish shade( very minture) on the onlooker

and the other two are of whitish tinge

              • Sensor connection on P200 DTSi

                Guys, need help again.

The coil winding n Ape RR part on my bike is done. Now, to reroute the lights connection on my bike, the mechanic says it's not possible to directly connect it to RR as the Pulsar has a sensor that doesn't support this circuit.

Since this is an all digital sensor, he says it will fuse/ go kaput as it had to support ignition too. He says the sensor will support only the stock lights and circuit. My take is that he either has incomplete knowledge or doesnt want to do the job since it's cumbersome.

@Lijo n others- Can you lead me to a post of a P200 been converted successfully? Mine is a '08 model …UG3 I guess. Really determined to get the full DC done. Please help!

                • Anyone know of emergency lights with rechargable batteries which can be fixed(clamped to crash guard) during night riding, removed and charged?
"Vibes transmitted from crank shaft to frame, then through the bearings of the head stock and into the stem where it meets the triple clamp and into the clip-ons where it is greeted with great pleasure by my hands"-ratfighter mod rtr

But why an emergency light on a crash guard? If you take a spill you ruin your crash guard and the makeshift light just my opinion.

Or you can install LEDs which are cheap energy efficient and can be used with an additional switch, just my noob thoughts

                    Cheers!

l have used it & its great. Generally you will find such stuffs in stores which stocks bicycle Accessories or in shops like Base camp, landmark etc. Other option is DIY with LED torch & clamp. You can use these as indicators when you have to leave your bike in dark on road side for short time (for pee or chai break on tapri) by locking & removing keys. Acts as fog lamps in foggy region & on long straight highways you can keep your head light in upper beam & the torch will act as lower beam (high beam is not advised in city & two way roads) . The best part is that it has its independent battery so no fiddling with your bike's electrical. I would advice you to go with two lights on both the side of crash gaurd it works great.

                          • Thanks Lijok, I have already gone through some of the posts before I posted my query here. I dont know why people are complicating things for me.
My Fazer is already full DC, so I dont need to make it DC and the and rewind and APE RR mod.
What I want to confirm is that since my bike is already full DC, I only need to do a rewinding of the stator coil and add the APE RR to the circuit?
Or anything else do I need?
If only the rewinding and the new RR is needed then can a local roadside bike mech do that? Is it safe to do it from them?
and some practical suggestion for a good battery, keeping in mind that I will do the recharging modification and then use both the HID 35wx2 together
