    10 months now.
    Near 11,000+ K.m.
Mostly on Eastern Highway (The Worst Road)

You see 10 months and nearly 11k k.m. Just because the roads are pathetic.
Else my Bike did near 17-18k in a year in Delhi + The running on my Fazer & Fz too.

      • Pulsar 150 HID Battery Drain Problem

Hey folks, I have the Pulsar 150 Dtsi (2005 Model, Non-Digital). I'd installed the Monster Energy x9 HID Kit for my bike from Lamington Road, Grant Road, Mumbai.
The mechanic converted it to DC (just by changing some wiring and he also used the term cutout).
Everything went good, but after a 25km ride, suddenly my horn stopped working, and then also the self-start.Basically, the HID had caused battery drain. After riding the bike for sometime without the HID, my horn started working and so did the selfstart (not as effective as earlier).
I was told to check my battries & it seemd like it was just fine as.
After charing the battery, the same thing hapened again.
After that my mechanic had installed a black sort of a clay thing on the battery which was like an aditional charger or something.

It worked fine for a month or so, after that my HID bulb stopeed working, the pilot lights stopped working, neutral light stopped working, battery died etc etc. Problem was, it was over charging my battries. I've removed that black clay as of now since it was messing up a lot more.

        Any suggestions ?
PS : I'm from mumbai if that helps

It seems a custom rectifier which only converts AC to DC & doesn't regulates the over voltage. That is why all those electricals went faulty. I guess he have connected the additional charger in the lighting coil & connected the output (Single Red wire) to battery +ve. Parallel charging is not a successful solution. For increasing battery charging, you have to rewind the Stator Coil, connect the output of stator to APE RR & output of APE RR to Battery. Thats it.

For DC conversion, join one cable from Ignition Switch DC output (Brown Wire) to the yellow wire which you will get near existing Regulator/Rectifier. DC conversion is a matter of few minutes. First go for Coil Rewinding & RR swap. But before that read this thread & http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...ke-all-dc.html from the beginning. Else if you trust those mechanics & do mods, result is in front of you.

If you understand the logic than surely you will be able to do the mods.

Thank you so much for the reply, abhijit.
Well, i dont really understand all the technical terms. But i guess i need to go first for the Coil Rewinding and then the RR swap. I will google for coil rewinding and the RR swap to know what exactly it is. In the mean while, can you tell me what the approx cost wud be for the rewind and the rr swap ? Also, if u guys happen to know anyone from Mumbai it will be easier for me since i dont have much knowledge about it.
Also, now that my battery is already dead. Which one do you suggest ? And what would be the approx cost ?
                Many Thanks xD

                • Re: Pulsar 150 HID Battery Drain Problem

The coil or Stator has 8 poles. 1 is for ignition, 3 for battery charging & 4 for Headlight/back-light. Ignition will remain untouched. OEM stator provides electricity in two phases i.e. battery charging & lighting. Rewinding needs to be done in all the 7 poles (Clock-anti-clock) with a single wire so that there will be a single phase which will go directly to single phase RR. And from RR output will go to battery. APE RR (Regulator/Rectifier) is required because present RR can pass only 3.5-4 amps whereas APE RR can pump more than 20 amps. That means it will deliver the entire power to the battery (of course after Rectification & regulation). But if you rewind the stator & keep the existing RR then it will never pass more than 3.5-4 amps whereas after rewinding your stator will be able to pump more than 5 - 6 amps (depending on the winding quality). I am attaching few pics of stator & RR. 1st pic is of APE RR. 2nd pic is to understand the division of poles & 3rd pic is to understand the winding pattern (Clock wise & anti - clock wise). Download the last pic & check the winding method. If you require more help, PM me I will try to help you out.

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Guys can someone help me in adjusting height of high beam in R15?? My SVC is kinda noobish. They adjusted only the low beam to some extent but high beam looks wierd (some irregular shape) I can easily adjust the low beam by doing in empty road, but how to do high beam?? As both of them glow I cant see which one goes where. Btw its new headlight assembly as I crashed,so all these problems :banghead: Any tips or help plz!!!
