I purchased a pair , they come in single also
    Costed 600 for single bulb

And overall I didn't feel satisfied spending that much for the bulb with very marginal difference except in low beam

I'm thinking to add a relay and use Philips rally bulbs of 90/110w

    Which cost only 200 rs
    a bulb

Anyone using them on bikes ?
I'm using them on my car
And they do wonders compared to my stock 60/55w halonix bulb

If I use the same rally bulb on my duke
Will the reflector be able to withstand the excess heat ?

    Thanks. 90W in bike
The bike will not withstand it at all. Also, the housing and reflector is small, heat produced will be immense. Other day, i was reading in NS forum, a guy wanting to fit 90W bulb in his NS. Other NS guys told him not to go for it.

    Cheerz!!

Even I was scared that I might melt the housing and connectors
So just asked if anyone has done it here
      And was successful

      Thanks devil

you will not be able to use a 90W bulb for long rides in night, as battery will get discharged.

i have done the above conversion on RE classic 350
but the problem with your headlight is it is made of ABS Plastic which will melt due to tremendous heat emitted
          by 90W bulb
whereas in case of bullet the headlight is solid build of metallic material so it can easily withstand the heat!

Hello friends,I have installed a HID(Normal H4 type 2,Halogen+HID) on my Honda Dio (New Model 2012).When I ride about 20 mins with HID on battery is sucked up totally,Self Starter doesn't start. The problem is that HID sucks up my stock Exide 3Ah battery but then I upgraded my battery to Amaron Pro Biker 5Ah but I am still not convinced.Mechanic said that he has has also installed a cut-out and it has been installed in such a way that it turns on when I turn on the ignition switch.
Will coil rewinding help resolve my problem?.
Any possible solutions to my problem?.
                Plz help me.
                Thanks in advance.

Can you post a pic of relay he used ?

If its a normal size ballast. Then you should search for cool bind and all
If its a normal relay / inverter like try sue in angel eyes. I'm afraid you have to head bang time with the mechanic.
Because that might me the culprit too.

Ballast is a normal one,but he left out one wiring thingy in installation kit,he said it wasn't necessary since it used to connect HID directly to terminals of the battery
Now im Thinking of installing another battery of 4Ah with already existing 5Ah in Series connection so that Amps add up.ie. 5 + 3 = 8Amps.
Which might be sufficient to run HID effectively.

I've eye witnessed the same cases of adding high power battery and then 1 more battery in many bikes.
Even In R15, I've seen the shop wala adding 2 battery.
                      In ghaziabad modding market.
But the main problem was, they didn't knee how to solve a problem.

Why not go to another mechanic first ?

adding battery will not help unless your charging increases.
U need coil ungrounding or rewinding with ug 4 rr or ape rr ( any rr with full wave rectification) then even you 5 amps battery would run you 35 watt hid and other loads on dio.

may be coil rewinding or ungrounding would not be required as honda coils are like a single phase coils so may be your dio might be the same as in this thread unicorn was found like that and if this is the case then only rr upgrade would be required.

The thing which you are talking about is relay not cut off. It saves the stock switches and wiring from going kaput when load is high.
