Guys in my r15 the stock lamp is 35w + 35w. I am in an idea of upgrading to osram night breaker. But its wattage is 55w. What happens when I upgrade it to my bike? Cause most of them are saying its not advisable to upgrade both the lamps to night breaker. Can you guys please shower some light in here?

    Thanks
    Cheers!!!!

your can only use 60 watts at a time that too if the rpm is or above 5000.
search in the r15 thread there is lot more information about this.
Give your details help a biker stranded in your city.

I would sujjest u go in for osram, osrams are way better than Philips, plus dont go in for dark blue bulbs as it may result in less visibilty during rains and is very irritating and dangerous for the oncoming traffic. Go for Osram cool blue or else if u want good visibility then nothing like nighr breaker plus or night breaker.

          • HID issues in 150cc motercycles.(Battery drainage problem)

I have been suffering from battery drainage problem due to my HID. I installed it in my apache 150cc 2007 model recently. I wish to know whether changing my stock alternator will fix the problem. If it will which alternator should i go for. I live in new Delhi. All sorts of suggestions are deeply appreciated guys.

What is the wattage of the HID?? Stock is 35 watt bulbs in rtr, if u exceed anythng above that u will have to get your charging coil upgraded.

Hi Folks, I own a 2006 P180 UG3 with 65K+ on Odo... I am planning to upgrade to Osram NB Plus ( order from ebay) but I am not sure which one of these H1, H4, H7, H11 and God knows all Hxxx will fit in the stock holder... Any advise would be of great help... Also, does my bike needs any change in wiring etc. or is the bulb a plug and play? UG3 had AC+DC setup...

Another small question- I have seen that visibility decreases with white lights in rains and thus, I don't want to compromise the visiblity during rains.. Which one of Osram NB Plus or Philips Xtreme Vision live upto my expectation? I mean yellow lights and no show off kind of thing with white/ Bluish white etc..

                  [MENTION=55137]I_Live2Ride[/MENTION] : h1, h2, h4, h7, etc are actually different sizes of bulbs.

every insert [& vehicle] has its own fit - for example n650 fits two h7's - one for hi-beam & another for lo-beam whereas most pulsars fit a h4

                  h1 & h7 are basically bulbs with a single filament [used as 2 separate bulbs as hi-beam & a lo-beam]

h4 is one bulb with 2 filaments [& hence can be used as a single bulb that functions as a hi-beam & a lo-beam]

and yes, white light or for that matter, light of any color besides yellow, is pretty much useless in rains &/or night driving [remember the vibgYor spectrum we learned in school / colleges]

HiD's or Gas Discharge or Xenon Lamps are the most powerful ones however they will drain ur battery juice like.no.other. Be prepared to kill ur battery under 1year after fitment! Besides, HiD's are not immediately ready-ON types... they take couple of seconds to fully emit their max lumens.

HiD's &/or HiD's with Projectors [projectors give a more focussed & less scattered beam due to the magnifying lense] appear to be white but are actually different shades of yellow with a tinge of other colors.

even then, yellow is the most recommended color for maximum utility, illumination, spread & throw of the beam.

u will find millions of threads comparing between osram night breakers / breakers++ / racers / etc. and philips extreme vision / diamond vision / etc.

and do not, no matter who tells u what, tamper w/ ur stock battery / wiring / etc. plug-&-replace-play bulbs of same specs is fine but do not tinker w/ the coils, wattage, cut-outs, etc. unless u r ready to dhakka-start ur ride @ unprecedented occasions!

don't get misled by fancy names... they are pretty much all the same w/ a slight deviation of white tinge to them. its really like choosing between aquafina or oxyfresh or bisleri!

choose the one that rocks ur boat!

                  hope this helps.

Yes, I won't play with the windings etc... but still the ques remains the same.... Which one (H4) has more of the yellow light and is safe during rains/ Night riding... Which one have you installed? Which one will be the best for my ride.. my bike has AC+DC circuit and all the threads have confused me to the core and hence looking for an expert opinion...

Guys could you suggest me a good 4300k hid for my zmr? I have an 8000k hid which is useless. Since I already have the ballast and connectors, just need a 4300k bulb.

i have a fazer. installed 50w(Yes its a 50w and not 55w) hid on the low beam and 55/60w halogen on the high beam.
this setup runs one bulb at a time.
i wish to use a projector. thinking of installing pulsar220 projector on the hid and pulsar220 reflector on the high beam halogen.
does this setup seem good? will the p220 projector handle a 50w hid?

I understand the need for projector on the hid but why do u want to change the reflector for the hal setup?

Also why do u want to go specifically for the pulsar projector, I mean there are various other third party projectors available plus m not really sure the 220 projector can be retrofit into the fazer dome without some physical alterations.

To answer your question as to whether the 220 projector can handle a 50w hid? Assuming by handle you mean can it take the heat overtime, then yes it can.

Regarding the halogen i thought the p220 reflector is a small round reflector same as the size of the projector. So it will look evenly balanced and decent as both the surrounding will be painted matt black.
And regarding the specific choice of p220 projector: i want to stick to my exsisting hid setup as its a genuine one sourced from navnish. I am not in a hurry to do the mod. So just wanted suggestions.
