battery wattage does not matter bro charging rates matter.
Battery is just a storage device.

Hi ! I just purchased a Yamaha Fazer 3 months ago. I am extremely unsatisfied with the stock headlight illumination at night, even after getting focus adjustment. As both the headlights cannot be switched on simultaneously as it would lead to battery issues. I was thinking of upgrading 35w stock halogens with 35w Philips Xtremevision or 35w Osram Nightbreaker. Where can I find the above mentioned bulbs in Mumbai/Navi Mumbai? How to improve lighting without doing any changes to the internal wiring?
        Life is a roadtrip.....

Hi. Battery is 12V 5.0 Ah. Model 12MX5L-B/AB5L-B. headlight bulb is Halogen 35/35. I have got the focus realigned. The issue is at night the beam whether at low or high beam does not illuminate road sharply. The beam spread is ok. So will 55 W halogen bulb or xtremevision / nightbreaker of 35 W light up the road better?

osaram nbs and philips xtreme comes in 55/60 watts only and for that changes has to be made to the electricals buddy.

Thanks rprathin. Can the charging system of Ray take load of 55 w bulbs or some mods will be required?

the stock would not take the load, for 55 dc conversion would be required which would void the warranty for electricals so its your choice

As my daily running is about 60 km the batt gets completly charged during the day
I did not need the conversion as I drive less at night
Still the batt is sufficient to lit up my hid for 2 1/2 hr of continuous useage after dat voltage dips
It si not dat the hid stops working but while starting(self start) it does not start.
If u drive less at night then no need for going rewinding.
                  The batt can sustain.
For completly charging the batt 20 kms of drive is enough..!

And I have connected the hid directly to the batt.
Conversion is in line will do soon.

if you do the conversion in the future then post the readings of charging rates and maximun charging rate on stock coil after ungrounding and after rewinding if possible

By touching the bulbs glass part, I will reduce the life span of the bulb not the intensity. It is specifically written on the package or drawn tht u should not hold the bulbs glass part with ur fingers, as It removes some layer off the bulb. No offence L.P.
