    Friends,

I have a Yamaha RXZ which I want to convert to complete DC for better lighting setup.
I'm from Mumbai and needs help with details of some auto electrician for coil rewinding.

Whenever you ride in the city or on the highway, any sort of HID tend to catch more attention than any stock light as it spreads alot and the color temperature tends to pinch everyone's eye.
Why is it that companies dont put 6000k 55/60watt bulbs in our cars and bike?? There are lot many options in the market like the Philips Extreme vison and osram cool blue. All OEM lights are made as per the govt laws which clearly says that we can only use 4300k lights within city and on the highway, if any of your friends has a BMW, just open its bonnet check the ballast of the HID, it clearly says 4300k and if you check the owners manual its written that you shouldn't try to put different bulbs with this ballast as ot woud avoid warranty and is against the law to use higher intensity bulbs, not the bulbs which we have the HID bulbs I am talking about.
On a very friendly note: Any type of HID is not supposed to be used on public roads as they are only used for Rally's and other motor sport.

Hello mate. You've got things partially right and partially wrong. HID is just a bulb like a normal halogen bulb which discharges heat and light, just like a normal bulb. But the main difference lies in HID is way too brighter than a normal halogen bulb having same wattage. A 35w 3000 k hid bulb produces around 3000 lumens whereas a 35 watt halogen bulb produces roughly 600 lumens (approx). So as you said the hid light is out of focus and blinds oncoming traffic, even a 4300k hid blinds oncoming traffic if used in stock reflectors. So irrespective of the color temp, a hid bulb which is placed in stock reflectors of our bikes definitely blinds traffic and loses focus. But this is not due to color temp of hid. This is due to the kind of reflectors we are using. As long as you are using stock reflectors it will cause glare because our stock reflectors are not made for using hids. So these reflectors cannot handle the extra amount of light hid produces plus the position of the hid bulb also doesnot match with these reflectors hence the glare. On the other hand, even if you use 12000k hid in a properly matched projector setup, it won't cause any glare for the oncoming traffic. Yes the driver's visibility in various conditions will deterioiate due to the high color temp. So basically what I want to say is the color temp doesnot create glares. Its the focus of light that causes glare. HID projectors are made to handle hid lights so they produce a precise focus without any glare but halogens are to be used in our stock reflectors and if we use hid in them, the result would be lots of glare plus scattered lights plus no focus.
Hope you got my point and please stop misleading people.

the 100/90W bulb would produce the amount of heat that the dome won't be able to handle.. try 60/55W bulbs..

                  Ride safe and have fun.

oh is it? I do have a stock 60/55w bulb which i find sometimes below to the mark, Alternative i found is 27x2 Watt LED Setup but the cost is way too high though less consumption , its costing me 6200/- with fittings for a pair 27x2 with one year warranty. Do you think that[100/90] will cause problem to the Dome, I believe Dome of Bullet is of Metal , Not sure though

if its metal, then no problem.. but plastic won't be able to handle the heat from 100/90W bulb..

you can check the [revious page, i had asked a similar query.. do check it..

Its not only about the dome. The battery has to withstand the high power consumption which will be used by the bulb. Also, you need to check whether relay is required or not. Ask your friend how has he done the setup? Any precautions to be taken while using it? It will be helpful to all other members

                        Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

I have enquired about the Setup but he is with the business so he is not in disclosing what he has done for LED Setup he has a shop, and for 100/90 bulb its my regular garage guy he said its a direct fit but i was waiting for second Opinion :P
P.S. for LED Setup they are mind blowing particularly for Night Riding but somehow i dont find its worth of Rs.6200 with fittings because, if you compare the Production Cost + Fittings + labour its almost double hence dropped the idea.

Experts I need some help, recently I bought a 4300k bulb for my projector setup, the bulbs length was about 1/2 cm shorter than the previous 6000k bulb. (Not sure if this is a factor to my problem)

I am having a problem with the length of the beam, its way too short and i have proper visiblity for less than 40 feet and the increase in length on putting high beams is almost negligible (+5 feet), I was wondering if positioning the bulb a little bit outwards from the projector would help in increasing the beam distance?
