for 220, I would say, try following:

    1. Readjust the throw angle. goto service center and make sure that headlight throw is in proper setting.
    2. Try upgrading the bulb to a philips or Osram one. make sure you read existing bulb rating. I guess it is H3,60/55 W
    3. upgrade to HID

The P220 uses H7 (12V 55W) bulbs for both the high and low beams.

        Hello All,
        Good Day.
I have bought a Bosch relay to fit it onto my duke.
However, I am not aware which wire to connect where.
Can you please help me to connect these wires correctly?
I have attached 2 pics. 1 is the front view of the relay and the second is with the 6 wires coming out.
        (2 green, 2 blue 1 black and 1 red)
3 wires in the upper row are thick (blue, red and green named 1,2 & 3 resp)
3 wires in the bottom row are thin (blue, black and green named 4,5 & 6 resp)
Can you please help me connect these?

        Thanks a lot...!

Nope. I disagree with your third point. HID are pretty useless. Unless you have a 4300k or lower rating bulb which is hard to source. 4300k too is not suitable. Specially during night and rains, when the road is wet. Philips or osram would be the best cost-effective upgrade.

I dont mean to hurt your feelings, i have a special place in my heart for P220 the version which we are talking about.

Thats what i was referring to, i have had used P220 in the past and i know how how the intensity felt like, even after HID upgrade.

Thunderbird's headlight is i guess the most usable stock headlight, im not here to start a war but this is what i felt.

                        Hi guys.
Want to upgrade the light of my duke 390. Should I try Phillips xtreme vision?
Also want a white led/buld for the parking light.
                        Where can I get both?

                        Thanks.

                          My Christmas gifts are here!!!!!!!
Okay, so couple of weeks ago, I had posted that I had ordered a set of Cree XML-U2 lights as aux lights. They are here today, and i couldn't wait to test them out. So I got them mounted and compiled a short review.

This is how the product looks in real life. The unit itself is quite solid, just what you'd expect from a quality product. The housing is made from machined aluminium and in every possible way, look and feel premium. The projector lens up front is again a touch of class. The lens is movable, allowing you to change from a wide, flood beam to a spot, pencil beam. I personally prefer a 70-80% spot beam for a distant throw. There are two brightness settings and a strobe mode, which flashes the LED at a very high intensity - prefect for blinding those high-beam throwing cabbies! As of now it runs off a battery back (shipped with the product) which has a life of 1 hour on full brightness and about 2 hours on low brightness.

All the images below are shot on the high brightness setting. The low setting dims the beam by approx 50%. The wall is at a distance of approx 5m from the LEDs.

Not quite happy with the mounting, it's very rudimentary. I will be working out a proper solution for mounting the projector.
(in case you can't notice it - it's right there, above the pilot LEDs, mounted on the RVM stem)

Now let's get down to business. The light looks fine, works fine, can be adjusted, needs some mounting solution. But the biggest question - exactly how bright is it? I am using Osram Nightbreaker 55/60W on stock setup (which is brighter than stock 55/60 halogens). Once you have the stock setup understood, here are some explanatory shots below which will help you understand the brightness better. The car in the below pics is at a distance of 25-30 mtrs from my bike (which is stationary).

                          1. Nightbreakers on low beam, LEDs off.

The next step is to source one of these step-down converters and wire the LEDs to the bike's electrical system.

New Year Resolution : Be more Responsible and a Safe Rider !

Started off by ditching my 8000k HID (chinese kit) on my RedBull (ZMA '09) and plonking a normal 55/60W H4 Philips Halogen (not the Xtreme Vision, will upgrade to it soon!) which , to my surprise , found at my grandfathers house !

The beam was too high at first, so adjusted it properly using the headlight adjuster screw (with reference to owner's manual). Quite satisfied for now ! Will have to test it during long runs in the night

No more curses from motorists coming in opposite direction
