These are add-on fog lights. A wide variety of 3rd party, bike-specific kits are available from brands such as PIAA, TouraTech and Hella.Originally posted by coolmaverickguy View Postguys what kinda light are this? and do they carry there own power source or connected directly to bike battery?

Apart from 3rd party accessories, some touring bikes come with OEM Fog lamp fitments as well.Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Hello, I'd like to get a projector setup for my Impulse.
I'm looking for advice/feedback/help with sourcing, installation and DC conversion as needed for my Impulse. I specifically want only a 4300K setup, everywhere I've looked in Hyderabad, there is only 6000k or higher available.
Please chip in with your inputs. Thanks!

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
If looks is what you want go for the projectors, personally I like projectors on a smoked reflector with single angel eyes. Try and get projectors with bulb of colour spectrum between 4300k-6000kOriginally posted by Sahilq View PostGuyz i want to change stock light of my fzs to either a HID or phillips xtreme vision/osram night breaker or HID projectors.

If better visibility is what you want then go for a 55w setup of either EV or NB, users who have tried both claim the Philips to be a little better

NB or EV provide better visibility than Projectors ? I thought projectors are much better .!?Originally posted by snehithpereira View PostIf looks is what you want go for the projectors, personally I like projectors on a smoked reflector with single angel eyes. Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Yeah its true. I have projectors installed too and I feel not okay with it as the other use the normal one's and the street lights too. A white beam, around a spectrum of what a user has already mentioned must be better than 35w stock bulbs.Originally posted by Sahilq View PostNB or EV provide better visibility than Projectors ? Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
I have nil experience when it comes to projectors. I'm keen on trying out a projector for my Impulse in the hope of getting great lights. Could you please expand on your post and help me understand why a 35W 4300K projector is inferior to a XV or NB 60/55 bulb?Originally posted by snehithpereira View PostIf looks is what you want go for the projectors, personally I like projectors on a smoked reflector with single angel eyes. Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
I am no expert on this matter but what i have said is mainly based on my own personal trials/experience on my bike and that of others. The little techincal reasoning i can come up with would be something like this:Originally posted by nirvan View PostI have nil experience when it comes to projectors. Could you please expand on your post and help me understand why a 35W 4300K projector is inferior to a XV or NB 60/55 bulb?
Theoretically a 35W 4300K projector seems to be more bright producing close to 3000 lumens whereas a XV or NB produces under 1800 lumens.
But visibility is not all about lumens, there is more to it, mainly the beam throw. Though projector are meant to concentrate the beam well for optimum throw, locally available Chinese ones don't seem to do the job as well as the likes of the one seen on cars/bikes that come fitted with a projector.
However the 55w halogen bulbs work just perfectly on any existing reflector. Giving you just enough of that extra brightness that you are searching for. Another reason I don't suggest a projector hid setup over a halogen setup for visibility purposes, is the lame/useless high beam on the projectors, in projector basically all that happens is the solenoid moves forward/back simply changing the low beams spread and no effective change in brightness.
The little I have explained above is purely based on my experience after using both the setups
