I am thinking of a wannabe modification for my R15.

The idea is to transform the R15's front to that of S1000RR. something like below:

I had planned to change high beam to projector and cover the rest of the transperant reflector glass shield with radium or something matching to the body colour of my bike. Now, the confusion is, they say that Projector setup at high beam does not quite give the illumination. In that case, i will have to take up a reverse look and keep the projectors on low beam with mirror view of the image above.

Will this setup be useful considering i have a high beam bulb of 35/35 W only.

BTW i am running on 5 amp battery.

PS: Sorry guys for eating up the space. I tried uploading the compressed pic but the high resolution one wont go away

Your post reminded me of D3. Look closely at Dhoom 3's opening shots where AB & UC are fleeing thugs in a yellow S1000RR. IT is actually a modded R15. See below:

That's a better idea. Projectors beam will pretty much face away over distance. I dont think there will be an issue with Left-Right reversal of the lamps. Why don't you consider upgrading your battery and switching to a Osram NB/Philips EV unit?

Edit: this post will help you

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

^^ No, that was modified Pulsar. I have seen more pics on it. See that it has a kick lever too

And i did not take inspiration from them, the idea has been with me for quite some time, say a year or more. Bitten by the BMW bug you see.

So you are suggesting a 55/60 Osram/Philips for high beam and a 35 W projector at low? Wouldnt that stress the battery?
Like i said, i am already running on 5 amp battery. Do i have to up it further? Any modification required for drawing extra charge rate to the battery?

Though the stickering looks odd, to be very honest. What you can try is, blacken out the stock reflectors, install a projector on Low beam, and use a circular reflector with a Osram or a Philips EV for the high beam.

Dropping off the stickering idea. I will either install the Osram on high beam with round reflector or go with the stock reflector if round one can not be sourced. For low, its projectors for sure.

Thanks for your leads, read them and they were helpful.

It's not my mod bro, I don't own a R15. The original modder has written the blog himself and he can be contacted via comments. Feel free to reach out to him

I understand that HID lights are illegal to have unless when installed in a proper projector headlight assembly. I'm looking at a lot of after market projector style headlight units with angel eyes and all kinds of razzle dazzle. Are all these street legal? I'm consider this for my RE Thunderbird 350 and trying to find one really worth the money and still functional.

                              Hiii,
I own a Discover 112 cc model non-self start version which is 6 years old having a 2.5 Ah battery. Its an older version and hence it does not have full DC ignition which is provided in the discovers of today. The full DC ignition is a nice feature in the latest discover because of which, the headlight runs on battery, and not on the dynamo and also you get a full beam even on lower RPMs also. I wish to have this thing in my bike as well. What I want is that my bike's headlight should run on battery, so that i get a good road view even at lower RPMs also. I recently installed a new battery of Tata in my bike, which is awesome in performance. Now regarding this, I have few questions which are as under:

                              1. How can I achieve this thing in my bike i.e. my bike's headlight run on battery and not on dynamo.
                              2. I have heard of a coil called RR unit. Can changing the RR unit in my bike to the one which is being found in the discovers of today will achieve me my required thing?
                              3. What other modification do I need to undergo, to achieve this?
                              4. What is the Ape coil about which is being discussed over here several times in this thread ? Will Ape coil would help out in some way for my required thing ?

Please help me out for my questions. Thanking You.
