    • I need to get my headlamps smoked should it be sprayed from inside after opening the glass by heating the headlamp or should we spray from the outside itself?

want to fit them in my thunderbird 500..
heard hid would involve cutting of wires and hence warranty void..

can hid be installed without chopping stock wires ??

is your Thunderbird dc means headlights works through battery if its dc then no problem hid can be installed without cutting of wire but if it is ac means headlight works only when engine is switched on then cutting of wire would be required

                It'll be done inside only.

No bro don't worry HID's are coming as a plug & Play. So no need to cut any wires.
And one question as what you are going to use the HID as a main light or a Aux light.

Thunderbird is a perfect DC bike. There everything is DC only.

check the charging rates using multimeter first. but as far as i know fz and sz have many things identical so i think they also share rr and stator coil as engine is same and in fz 55/60 watts bulb works properly so charging rates would be enough to support the 55/60 watts bulb
and i would be against for this if your bike is in warranty
bulb change will void your warranty as cutting of wires would be required for putting relay.
your bike stock wiring will not support the load of 55/60 watts bulb so relay is necessary.
instead you can go for 35 watts hid that would not require cutting of wires. but the cost will be on higher side

Thanks a lot for such a detailed reply brother... yeah its coming with 35w osram bulb but its illumination is poor where as fz which is coming with same 35w bulb is having good illumination...I think fz is having Philips 35w hs1 as default bulb...should I switch to Philips 35w hs1..??? One more thing, I was surfing on this thread and some threads on team-bhp...people were discussing about using 55w bulbs as plug and play options for their activas, p180s and wegos. only thing required according them was DC electrical set up and that's why now I am confused....

                                how old your bulb ?
I have pulsar135 (1 year old) now it seems stock bulb (Halonix HS1 35W) bit dimmer than other pulsars light.
As far as I know halogen bulbs too reduce its light output with use.

Sometimes bad connectors/switch contacts can lead to voltage drop and then reduced light output
0.5V drop can make big difference.

Im also heared some people used 55W for P180, wego etc.. but wego is not full DC & old P180/150 too
                                P135 is full DC.
If 55W bulb work for Bikes with AC headlight, no need to worry because no battery discharge risk. if 55W bulb work, then it work forever.

But with DC bikes, main risk is battery drain.

                                35W bulb draw 3A and 55/60W bulb draw 5A
We should check charging system can handle extra 2A
