How old is your battery ?

Check for the volt / wattage use of these bulbs. Though its not written on these kind of bulbs but any electrician can tell you that by checking with their electrometer.

And on a very very curious note.
From where did you purchased them in Mumbai ??

Has anyone tried upgrading D390's illumination?. If yes could you please share some specs???. I find the illumination on downside

I have upgraded to Phillips ExtremeVision 60/55W bulb. There is a noticeable difference compared to stock. Next step up would be a 100/90W bulb with relay. The bike will support it as it has a powerful alternator.

Thanks buddy . But how confident are you about the alternator???. I had once upgraded my Esteem's with same set-up and I installed with ceramic bulb holders to withstand the hike in temp. Will the D390 as well require similar thing???. Btw how much did the 60/55W cost you?

Yes, a ceramic holder with a relay is a must. The alternator is rated at 238W. It has enough leeway to allow a bump from 60W to 100W. Question is how long the reflector will last. My guess is 6 month to 1year with heavy use.

Have a look here - What is the electrical power generation of KTM Duke 200 / 125 alternator / dynamo | Nex Gen Bikes

The Phillips bulb cost me 700 bucks.

Interesting. The same site lists CBR250 to have one of the most powerful alternators rated at 340W. Rally lamps Ahoy!!!!

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Best is to get a prebuilt relay + wire harness from Hella or somewhere else, and modify it for our bike. Costs around 800 bucks or so and comes with relays/holders/fuse.

BTW, I have not done this mod myself yet. Planning to get it done after some time.

Your bike already has one of the best headlights and I guess its better than the other bikes which are available upto 1.5lacs.

Buddy you forgot The new thunderbird 350 with projectors, and trust me they are better.
I have used both the bikes so can make out the difference. In Pulsar, the vision sems to lack intensity and visibility area.
I dont mean to hurt your feelings, i have a special place in my heart for P220 the version which we are talking about.

And Yea the New ThunderBird's Lighting system is awesome !
