Yes they are a direct fit.
Normally you won't need a relay/high ampere battery.
No it won't harm stock electricals/stock reflector, anything beyond 60/55w definitely will.
Halonix 12v 35/35w is the stock bulb.
Thanks..
Yes my first choice is NB due to its lower color temp 3900K < 4300K than XV ...
But in the OSRAM website there are plenty of 55/60W NB models.. which one to choose a bit confused !!
I stay in Bangalore ; can you suggest a good n reliable mechanic or autoshop from where i can get the bulb fitted .. i have searched a lot of shops nowhere i could find OSRAM NB.RG

In Blr based on your location you can pick it up either from Auto Grid, Next to CBI (RT Nagar) or else Thirumala Pit-stop on Double Road, several other automotive stores stock them too so do check in your local stores. You could always try JC Road too...
Go for the Night Breaker Plus H4 bulbs, The cool blue ones have a slightly more blue tinge and are very similar to the philips EV. Get the bulb and it's pretty much plug and play so you won't need a mechanic, however once done the beam needs to be focused a bit for the proper effect hence if you find it difficult to do it yourself, go to the ASC they should do it for you, else PM me and i will suggest a guy based on your location

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Philips 55/60 - Rs.85 Normal
Philips Premium 55/60 - Rs.100 Good for the price difference of Rs.15
Philips Xtreme Vision 55/60 - Rs.600 Slightly White Low Beams(Because of the Blue tint near the tip), Bright High Beams(No tint at all)
But the extra money of Rs. 500 over Philips Premium Bulb is definitely definitely not worthy at alllllll.
Never used Osram NB Plus.

Are you sure that NB Plus is more yellow than Xtreme Vision? I am using Xtreme Vision and it has only a small Blue tint band in the bulb glass and that too at the tip( also not directy around the filament). As per the images the NB Plus has Blue tint for High Beam filament and therfore would be on whiter side ...Originally posted by Rajarshi View PostThanks..

XV is not 4300k. Crystal Vision is 4300k

for OSRAM NV- color temp is mentioned in website.. for Philips XV i have checked it physicaly... it was 4300K. .

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
"checked it physically" ???????? Do you have any 4300k Bulb like crystal vision or a HID to compare??Originally posted by Rajarshi View Postfor OSRAM NV- color temp is mentioned in website.. for Philips XV i have checked it physicaly... it was 4300K. .

I think you mistook some blue bulb with Xtreme Vision. The part number for Philips XV is 12342 XV(printed on the bulb).
And XV is definitely yellowish than NB.

In website Philips doesn't specify the color temp for any of there bulbs... i went to shop and checked the Phillips Xtremevision.- there it was mentioned 4300K.Originally posted by sandeepcf View Post"checked it physically" ???????? as 3900K is much more yellowish than 4300K thats why i have mentioned that NB is more yellowish than XV.
Note: i havnt seen the light-beam for any of those models.RG

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Please cross check the package. Nothing about the color temp is mentioned on XV Blister pack.Originally posted by Rajarshi View PostIn website Philips doesn't specify the color temp for any of there bulbs... i went to shop and checked the Phillips Xtremevision.- there it was mentioned 4300K.

If it was written 4300k then it would be crystal vision.

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Does any one knows where can I get cheap / local LEDs for front parking light and back break / tail light for Yamaha FZS in PUNE?
How much will it cost?
Is it direct plug and play?
How much watt will it consume?

Karizma ZMR HID Kit Query
Hello All,
Mine is a Karizma ZMR. I replaced the stock headlights with HID lamps about an year ago. About a couple of days back, due to some fault in the wiring [maybe because it had too much tape on it], I went to get the wires replaced. In the process, along with changing the wires, the mechanic removed the relay and the fuse as there was no provision for it in the new set of wires. He told me that fuse and relay [for HID] is not needed in bikes like Karizma, R15, Pulsar 220, duke, etc. Is it true that relay and fuse are not required? of now, I have removed it. The HID kit now consists of just the wiring and the ballast. Should I put back the relay?

Re: Karizma ZMR HID Kit Query
It is advisable to put the relay and fuse back. Without the relay, your battery will be sucked badly by the hid and fuse is necessary in order to prevent harm to the light if by any chance fluctuation in current supplied to the hid occurs. The fuse will cut off the circuit if the power supplied is above the desired level.Originally posted by Nikhil P Naik View PostHello All,

. Since I do a lot highway riding at night, I'm in need of better lighting. I was wondering whether I could fit a osram nightbreaker + 55/60w without making any electrical changes to the bike like adding relays, coil rewinding etc. I'm a total dummie when it comes to electricals so would need your help.
