Bajaj Pulsar 150 Headlight HID BI Xenon Cree Ring Square Projector | eBay

I bought it and checked it's Angel Eye ring, its working fine. Now for the projector itself I don't have any mechanic or experienced person to do it here in my town!! I know that I need to remove the front glass from my bike's headlight assembly and I had done it just today. Now I am clueless about how to install this HID in it!!!! Do I need to remove the reflector too? If not then how would it fit? Please, if anyone of you have any info regarding this please guide me step by step. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

So as you have already removed the glass, now if you pull the reflector out ... it will come off (with a thud sound). Remember there is a adjusting nut which you have to completely unscrew before attempting to pull out the reflector.

Now find out a way to fix the projector to the reflector. Once done, push the reflector back to the black casing. tighten the adjustment screw and secure it.

Now you can test everything before fixing back the glass.

Well I don't have a wiring diagram as such ... but I suppose in the older pulsar, the wiring was much more straight forward than the modern ones.

Plonk in the Avenger stator & also purchase the Avenger's RR and fix it.

Any single phase RR will work just fine like APE RR or FZ's RR.

The stator will have 2 outputs which needs to be fed to the RR and the two wires coming out of the RR, one goes to the Battery positive and other to ground.

After that, find out the supply to the headlamp .... re route it to the ignition key switch.

The easiest was to do that would be to find the AC line from the stock RR output and connecting that to the rear brake light's supply.

Thats all you need to do for a full DC setup.

Go for a relay harness for the 60 watts bulb.

Thanks for the kind advice.... I'll do as said (And I assume i don't need to build any custom rectifier or regulator)

Now, since my bike is 13 years old, the wiring seems to be somewhat brittle,

            1. Should I purchase new wiring ? or only plonk avenger's stator and RR and use same wiring
            2. If yes, what would suit better considering full DC and 60W
            a. Stock Wiring of Pulsar 150 Classic (with mod as suggested by you, you also mentioned the classic pulsar wiring is much simple)
            OR
            b. Wiring of Avenger? if so which model of Avenger/any other bike from bajaj stable?

Thanks again, this tribe has been of great help
as mechanics, electricians and my friends too think I'm gone

I would suggest you to go for stock wiring of old pulsar due to much less complexity.

Alternatively, you can use the wiring harness of Pulsar 135 too ...which is relatively pretty simple.

First get the stock wiring working fine with all the functionalities and then go for full DC conversion process, one at a time.

Trying to do both together will mess up everything.

              Good Luck.

Battery , Charging , Headlamp upgrade - Explained
                Hi Bob,
                Very nice explanation.
I have fir 4amps battery on my 2003 splendor. HD dome is of Swaraz Mazda bus one with out Parking lamp, reason being I wanted to plonk in 55/60W bulb from the car which is available plenty in number. Presently running on Osram Silverstart 35/35W.
Can you tell me if the current RR can juice the battery and can I go for 55/60W with no much hassle.

What other lights (tail/brake) can be replaced with Plug n Play LED to save power for the headlamp.

                Regards,
                Sri

                • Need suggestions for headlight bulb replacement

Hello, sorry if I am posting this in wrong section. I ride e Hero Glamour and I am not happy with the amount of light I get during nights, especially when there are oncoming vehicles from opposite roads, I face huge trouble watching whether there are potholes ahead or not. So I am considering replacements, preferring 12V 35/35W lights because I do not want my battery to drain out. Need some trustworthy headlight bulbs suggestions. Thank you.

                    Thank you.

For your case, splendour had a AC/DC electrical system. The battery only supplied the brake lamp, indicators and horn.

The speedometer lamps, headlamp & tail lamp were driven directly by stator through a half wave rectifier.

Now plonking a 55/60 watts will not benefit you much as the bike merely manages to support a 35 watts bulb, hence the 55/60 watts will glow dim (like a candle).

I would suggest you to rewind the coil and upgrade the RR with a Full DC one.

This will enable you to plonk a higher capacity bulb and make it glow to full brightness.

With change of a bulb, you will not gain anything more than 5 amps.

I would suggest you to get the coil rewinded and convert the electrical system into Full DC ( pretty easy process ).

This will let you put higher wattage bulbs. Also a 35 watts bulb will glow better in full DC system.

Can anyone educate me on HID lighting for CBR 250R? I wanted a bright light and changed stock bulbs of CBR to Philips Extreme Vision. Lights is now better than stock but not that great. Want to have more lights on the road.

Now I found that I can get more whitish light from Philips Diamond Vision but the lumen would be max 4500K. Thinking to switch to HID with 6000K lumen which will be anytime better than stock or my current Extreme Vision 130% (3700K).

I don't wanna mod the wiring of the bike nor put extra pressure on battery.

If anyone can put some lights on this topic it would be great.

Relatively an easy process as CBR is a full DC motorcycle and makes a lot of electrical power.

A high end HID projector should resolve your issue.

HID projectors are plug nd play devices and hardly require any wiring changes.
