But 6500K , not very ideal for road usage, specially if its raining or foggy.

I agree. But, I never faced problem during rains. If its pouring heavily, I wouldn't ride my bike, and if its drizzling or when its stop raining, I didn't find this temperature to be an issue. I agree that 4300K is best for rainy and foggy condition, but this was really not bad either. 5000 to 6500K should be OK if its not pouring heavily. Anything above that is not good even if its not raining.

      • Apache RTR180 Headlight Power Upgrade.

        Hi Friends,

Iam new to this xbhp ,

I own a Apache rtr180 2011 Model recently, Engine & all the other stuff's are fine, but Headlight Power 35Watts not fulfill my requirement ,

        1) Inorder to get some better high beam , I have changed the headlight bulb ( Philips City Vision Moto) 4300K 35Watts myself, but no use.

        2) I saw some threads regarding 55 watts Halogen bulb installation & running without any issues, so I bought Osram 55W Halogen bulb 2700K to replace the 35W bulb

        The results are,

        1) Can't get enough power source to bulb from Magneto
        2) When I use brake, Indicators, pass lights , Headlight became dim,
        3) Slight Brightness difference in Digital Cluster,
        4) Switch timing between high beam & low beam is very slow,

I know that Flywheel magneto produces 100 W for Normal Apache rtr180 , So I made a test for 55Watts bulb but it fails,

In some other threads shows that Rtr 180 Abs produces 150 Watts from Magneto , in that the rider can easily replace & grab better result.

So my plan is to do the coil rewinding upto the power of 200 watts like pulsar 220,

        My doubt is

        1) whether Coil rewinding is possible?
        2) if it possible is there any relay/cut out/fuse for upgrading 55w Bulb installation
        3) And iam planning to use Roots Horn after this modification, is it possible?
        4) After this modification in electrical which bulb is best for Night Long drive ?
        5) whether this modification is useful to Install Original Hid Kit 35W or 55W at 3200Kelvin?
        6) If i install Hid Kit means , is there any performance power drop at usage ? i have done this method to my past bike Splender Pro, I have noted that Load increase at pulling power & Fuel Consumption decreased.

Actually i have asked so many people & many shops, mechanic & shop persons said that switch to led( model attached below) headlight to get better result,

but i looks like stupid, even if i replace those kind of bulb , it will not use for me. and it looks like fancy ( total worthless)

Is ther any way to calculate the power output after coil rewinding to meet the 200W ?

        Please advice Me.

You need to register on the website and add use your credit card for purchasing which has international usage enabled. Just Google "Buying from AliExpress" and you will find many blogs with details on how to order stuffs from AliExpress.

Rewinding a stator coil can by DIY. There are helps available online even in xbhp I guess. Go through them and try doing it.

If you are not confident about that, then there are guys who can do it for you, might not be in your city.

              You can try - www.facebook.com/motodigiteks

About battery, I don't see a need to upgrade a battery unless your bike has sufficient power to charge it up.

Ex - Just having a bigger tank without a pump doesn't mean the tank never gets empty. Its only that the tank takes a little longer to get emptied.

              > First things first, yes every coil can be rewinded, so can be RTR's.

              > Can you do it? Yes you can DIY it. Just do a little research on the web and you will have sufficient help links to do it

              > What if you can't, just notice I have posted a link in the above post where you can get the job done.

              > About 200 Watts thing, please keep one thing in mind, every drop of electrical power is generated out from your engine!! So never overdo things.
If you have a requirement of max of 120 watts, don't try to make anything above 135 watts, cause rest everything would be just wastage of power (BHP)
Yes!!, engine power does get eaten up when you try to produce crazy figures out of a stator coil.

              > Your case, simple, Just wind the stator coil with a 19 AWG copper wire, feed it to a Fz / Gixxer RR and feed all the RR power to battery. You will be making approx 100 - 110 watts of total power(regulated). Connect every electrical component to the battery directly and replace every tiny little bulb in your bike with LEDs.

              > Buy a readily available Headlight relay hareness or get it made and plonk in a 55/60 watts "branded" halogen bulb (Philips, Osram). etc

              > The bright will glow to its full brightness and should solve your issue. Further after few months or years, you can also go for high end HID Projector kits (not cheap chinese ones). Surely your highways riding experience in the dark will be changed forever.

              > Plonk in horns of your choice, nothings gonna happen to your battery once its full DC.

              > P220 doesn't make 200 watts, AFAIK.

That hopefully sums up all your queries. Wish you all the best.

                Thanks for this information,

And i had one doubt , what is DC conversion ?

Whether Apache 180 is Full AC ?

Some Persons told All the bikes are DC ,

If Apache 180 was AC means , what is the procedure to convert AC to DC ?

& What are the advantages & disadvantages of DC Conversion ?

                    Bro i had one doubt,

One of my friend who is working as mechanic said that,

Apache rtr 180 ABS produce 150w and its connection is fully DC,

                    Apache rtr 180 is AC/DC

So installing the stator coil of 180 ABS and conversion of AC/DC to. DC will be enough to provide sufficient power for 55/60w halogen bulb.

                    Is this method will help?

                    Kindly advice me 😊

And in above thread u have mentioned about retrofit of all tiny bulbs to led,

Where can i get those led bulbs for indicator, tail light, pilot bulb and number plate bulbs by online purchase?

                        Thats absolutely true.

Fixing a RTR 180 ABS stator coil & the RR unit would be the easiest way to convert to full DC, considering it will have its costs.

Available on Amazon. You don't need to change the indicators to LEDs as they dont glow all the time. Target the pilots, number plate bulbs etc. which glow all the time when the headlamp is running.

I would recommend you to buy original Philips t10 LEDs which are available on Amazon (1500 INR a pair, when I bought) as they come with 15 years of warranty. The chinese ones are a gamble they may last or may not.

                        Good luck.

I've been using this orbit blue 100/90 for almost a year and no issue at all. I searched for a relay but can't find a proper one so been using it without relay too.
