Is this light any good? Has anyone used these on motorcycle? These are available for Rs. 2400 /- a pair in Flipkart.
I plan to put them on my bike, any comments?

      hi,

I wanted to know, with led lights' increasing availability and affordability... which lighting modification would make more sense on old 100cc bikes?

      1) converting them to full dc and installing HID kit

      or

      2) increasing battery capacity and directly installing LED auxiliary fog lights

      or

      3) converting to full dc bike and installing LED headlight and all other lights to LED lights

      considering price, legality regarding modification...

also which RR would be more compatible for DC conversion? ape RR or UG4 RR if battery is 12v 5A for a 97cc bike

      thank you

Search around a bit more. You are likely to find much cheaper similar ones.

I am still confused as to what to choose between ape RR or UG4 RR ??? for an old 100cc bike

            Also, what should i do?

Has anybody installed extra auxillary lights (fog lights / LED lights) with 60W headlamp on Yamaha FZ-S? Or can anybody throw some light on the same about required mods if any.

I have actually considered and tried this option,
its fair in performance. The beam focuses on a spot.
but hell dont pay 2400 for it,these are available a lot cheaper (under 1500bucks)
i sugget you also consider Cree LED light bars.

fog lamps or spot ? how much difference will it make? I want to install them as an auxiliary i.e. on crash guard which are lower than height of headlight of bike... so which one will be better option?

                      Depends upon your requirements,
I was also in the same dilemma with the light type
if you see my earlier post in this thread,
I ve both fogs as well as Spots
                      Mounted on the crash guard.

                        Dear Gurus,

I need your help in understanding what went wrong in below situation when I wanted to have led cob light on my bike

I will try explain what I did and require your help to know where it was wrong

                        1. As you know, the bikes have number plate light at rear , which project light on number plate
                        2. I wanted to remove that bulb and make use of that power socket to light up my LED COB strip ( product link

The voltage on bike's wiring goes above 12v. The normal bulb tolerate the variarion.. but led do not. I tried to make an led tail light for my zmar and ended up with damaged strip like you did. So you can either use a charge controller ic or resistor of sufficient value ( I don't know what 'sufficient value' is ).

I've installed spots (15w*2 LED's) on my crashguard, and it makes a huge difference. The spread is wide enough, and long enough that I can see the road clearly, and notice obstacles in time to avoid, or slow down for obstacles. With my stock headlight only, I could notice most obstacles (pot holes, speed breakers) only after it was too late to do anything about it.
I've also got the LED's pointed down, and straight, so I don't think they blind incoming traffic.

I'm not sure how much visibility will improve in foggy weather with them, but it'll definitely be better than if I was running stock headlights only.

I think you should install either the fog lamps, or the LED's first, and if the single upgrade doesn't light up the road the way you want, then install the other.

Hey guys I bought the RTR 180 ABS about 2 months ago but very unhappy with the headlights. I was planning to replace them with Philips Xtreme Vision 55/60W H4 type bulb. I went through this thread and found that the RTR has a HS1 type socket and also read that H4 bulbs can be fitted in a HS1 type socket. Is this true? Can someone also help me out with where I could get my hands on the bulb in Bangalore?

Yes H4 is a direct fit in HS1 socket. Is your bike's headlight DC powered or AC?
If DC, head to JC road and ask for a 55w bulb depending upon your budget (85 rupees to 700 rupees for a Philips/Osram bulb).

                                Else, order one online.
                                Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
