That's way to high for 6led !Originally posted by akshatajeya View PostI don't think so,I've seen the same 6 Led pods going for 2500-3000 online/local market.
I got it for 750 "a piece",not a steal but decent I guess.
In local market if you know correct dealer then you can get it cheaper. And as far online is concerned i think you are not aware of deal finding & grabing on time, as it even costs less than wholesale.
Anyway a decent buy providing satisfaction is what matters most
The one i have seen 6Led & 12Led have function of flashing when you on them then turn off & again on quickly (on-off-on) they start flashing untill you turn off & then on them again. Maybe yours are different.Originally posted by akshatajeya View Postthese do not have any flashing mode.
Is that welded fixing on crashguard is from begining or you made it to fix these ?Originally posted by akshatajeya View Postthese came with their suitable mount,4 way adjustment.
Get Cree Led Projector pair which can be fitted on crashguard. Will be cheap & no need to open headlight assembly.Originally posted by bavlo View PostHas any one tried AV mod services in mira road Mumbai? AV mod is specialised in advanced lighting and has a you tube Channel. I talked to this Guy Vishal from AV mod. For led projector set-up on my impulse he quoted me 3500. His work on other bikes looks good but no reviews on his videos on YouTube. Reviews will be helpful....
Check some pages back there are details shared by some peoples & also check akshatajeya setup.

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Hello guys i have some doubts regarding alternator, ac lighting and regulator rectifier. plz help me to sort out the confusion.
i have hero honda cbz classic im trying to eliminate its one of curse that is bad headlight. so i have installed twin projectors of ktm rc390 in cbz.
(working on DIY will post in Do IT Yourself section soon) which have 55w low beam and other high beam projector is 65w. Currently i am running with everything stock. at a time only one projector lits.
I want to light up both the projectors at high beam means total 120w combined. alternator of cbz generates 130w at 5000 rpm. I consider AC lighting is more reliable except flickering at low rpm and dont want to rely on battery as cbz can run without battery.
my questions are...
1) the yellow wire coming from alternator goes to RR and parallel connection from wire goes to headlight so it regulates 12v constant at any rpm, earlier bulb was of 35w. so RR also restricts current to 35/12 = 3A?? or it is providing full 4.5A current to 55w halogen??
2) The white wire from alternator is use for charging the battery and i found that its having more voltage than yellow wire at any rpm.
Can i use electricity from this wire to lightup high beam?
3) If yes ...then i think it should be regulated like yellow wire to restrict 12v at any rpm. so i will need a RR with two AC output from regulator side. Anyone know such regulator exist for other bikes? Or i should use another RR to regulate voltage of white wire? parallel connection from white wire will take care charging of battery with little current, as its a 2.5 AH battery required for horn and indicators....
4) Honda cbr250 have 340w alternator but its all poles are dedicated to charging a battery, no exciter coil in it, which cbz needs to generate spark via IG coil. By any means can i use this 18 pole alternator of CBR250??
5) anyone know auto electrician in mumbai for coil rewinding???
Any help will be appreciated

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
I would request you to check out my projector kit if you have time (as we are in same city). Your perception about HID projectors will completely change for ever.Originally posted by Naveen Vajja View PostI can try and address the three points from my experience.
The HID projector, though very cool, is only for show and you will regret it in rain, during long rides, dusty conditions, well lit motorways. Is it a cop magnet, can't really say as in Hyderabad cops will find a way. You will not see the light, only the light it throws. Its a personal choice.
If you want to revert it to stock, its an easy DIY. Refer to this link. I don't know if you can get just the reflector...The Headlight assembly costed me Rs. 750/- and the bulb was Philips Extreme vision costing me Rs 399/-. Getting a better projector is costly affair and money can be better spent on gear :-)
I installed the Dual Roots Windtone, but I have also installed fuses for both of them. No Point in frying the whole thing as electrical is the biggest mess to sort out in a bike. I bought them from the same store that sold them, though had to specifically ask for them. ' Horn relay' is all you need to say.
As for the alarm system, I would say better to skip it. A friend of mine had it on his R15. Installation is messy and they screw around with the CDI which is not worth it. Just my 2 paisa. You can get a disk lock or lever lock which do about the same job.
Though, everything comes at a price.
If you are a highway guy, always choose spot beams. The flood lights just look too bright as all the light falls on your foot (fore ground). It ends up inhibiting your distance vision, making you blind to on coming danger at higher speeds.Originally posted by amit01 View Postfog lamps or spot ? how much difference will it make? I want to install them as an auxiliary i.e. on crash guard which are lower than height of headlight of bike... so which one will be better option?
Remove the LHS engine cover, remove the stator, there will be 3 poles of copper winding, remove all the copper winding, buy fresh 19 guage copper coil and wind it yourself.Originally posted by shiwaan View PostHello Guys,

Calculation - approx 128 turns (in layers) on each pole. The direction of winding gets reversed on every consecutive pole.
You can DIY. Just remove all copper windings from the stator except the ignition coil one.Originally posted by Darchorse View PostHello guys i have some doubts regarding alternator, ac lighting and regulator rectifier. plz help me to sort out the confusion.

Buy a 18 AWG(guage) copper wire and wind it. Every consecutive pole will have the winding direction reveresed.
All in all the whole coil will have 2 ends(as its a single piece of wire wound around all the poles), those two wires need to be soldered to and two of the available output wire and feeded to good RR unit.
The RR unit will charge the battery at crazy rates when you drive high loads at the same the the RR will prevent the battery from overcharging when there is no load.
Calculation - 32 turns(in 4 layers) for 12 poles.
32*12 = 384 turns total.
Just divide by number of available poles in your bike. Ex - For 8 pole stator - 384/8=48 turns per pole.

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Output from you newly wound coil will be fed to a Full DC RR unit ( Fz, pulsar UG4, Gixxer), which will charge the battery. You will connect every electrical device of your bike to the battery , hence everything works on battery power.Originally posted by shiwaan View PostHello

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Hi everyone. Is it possible to upgrade the headlight of bajaj caliber to support 60/55w bulb? Any modifications required? When inquired with a mechanic, he suggested to run the bulb through battery while the stock headlight output can be used to charge the battery. Is it a good option? What are the precautions to be taken for this method?

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
FYI No HID works on AC, so forget that. The ballast needs pure DC to light up the HID else it will simply not work.Originally posted by Darchorse View PostThanks for input bro but you missed the point that i want make them work on ac current
Even if you want to drive 100 watts halogens, you can only do that in Full DC setup.
AC electrical system is totally outdated and doesn't work well when current levels are high.
AC electrical systems burn out bulbs much sooner than a full DC one due to its every fluctuating nature.
Hope that answers all your queries.

The only way to do it safely is to rewind the coil and convert the bike into a full DC setup.Originally posted by John P Daniel View PostHi everyone. Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Unfortunately, there is noone in my locality to rewind the coil effectively. So I'd have to do everything on my own along with the help of a bajaj mechanic. He also suggested to get the battery changed to a 5ah one.Originally posted by bobisbacktorock View PostThe only way to do it safely is to rewind the coil and convert the bike into a full DC setup.

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
I had installed 100/130W bulbs with relay, HID's, Projectors and LED spot lights on my car (many DIY) and I wanted to use something which is easy to install and that gives good light output. I got hold of a dealer in Ali Express and had a chat with him. I ordered LED light from Ali Express New LED Motorcycle Headlight Bulbs 20W*2 2000LM*2 High/Low Beam 12V 6500K Cree COB Motobike Light Lamp M4 H4/HS1 Super Bright-in Headlights from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group and I must say I was very satisfied with the light output. As this product has LEDs only on the top side, the oncoming traffic faced no problems. The one with LED at the bottom would be of great discomfort for oncoming vehicles. Check the pictures for the light output. This was done on Apache RTR FI. I had to connect the headlight directly to ignition(got this done by someone in JC Road, Bangalore) so that the LED's wouldn't burn out. Never faced any battery issues. I don't have this bike anymore, but if I had to do anything with bike lightning, I would do this again with out a doubt. Before that I was using Philips Crystal Vision and the output was nowhere compared with the LED. I strongly believe LED's and HID's are far better than all those Crystal Vision and Night Breakers out there.
Low Beam
High Beam

But 6500K , not very ideal for road usage, specially if its raining or foggy.
LEDs are ridiculously bright though
