Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Originals are around 6 grand a pair without bulb or ballast, TRS uses a few different companies for the manufacture of their projectors, they all land up pretty much the same price. I don't have the ones from TRS, but am very happy with them, I have the V5's on the bike and V6.0's ready to install on the car. Both have great low beam, takes a little time to get accustomed, high beam is ok, with the H1 bulb you have to fiddle a bit to get a good seat and line up the hotspots.Originally posted by anarchy911 View PostBeware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!

Which type of lamp you use for 13000+ lumens..Originally posted by Rahul.g View PostYou guys must have better eye sight beacuse i cant see nothing on the highways even with a 55w halogen.

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
In my opinion those led spots, don't give you much distance lighting, at best they give you extra foreground lighting, which isn't really a good thing, it will affect your distance vision and give you the perception of better light. Example if you drive a car, try without your fog lights and then with your fog lights on, you will tend to focus on the ground just ahead of your car and lose distance in your vision, you can't focus on both as your pupils will be dilated from looking just say 4 metres ahead, from there to look 100 metres or so ahead, you adjustment will take time, hence increasing you time to react, this becomes more important as your speed increases, riding around a well lit city with lots of extra lights won't hurt much, on a dark country road, you can often end up seeing danger as you're about to roll into it! (that is also my personal experience, I had a bad slide whilst having hid's in my reflectors, had lots of foreground light, nothing in the middle and a little distance lighting, so I ended up focusing on the ground directly in front of the bike, my perception was that this was good light, in reality I couldn't see much in the distance)Originally posted by anarchy911 View PostWould putting 2-10W LED aux lamps along with my AES G1 projector, just for the purpose of high beam, affect my battery? Now on most bikes the limiting factor is that they have single headlamps, which gives you an immediate disadvantage, even with a good oem hid projector.Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!

1 x 50w HID would suffice your needs I feel. Just have some mercy on on-coming traffic [emoji14]

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
I own a Pulsar 180. I installed AES G1 but I am not satisfied with the high beam. I was thinking of installing some LED lamps for this purpose, without affecting the battery much, as already, when I switch on the HID, it affectd the horn.
Any suggestions?

I dont use all of them at once, and the only time i use more than 1 is when I am on 4/6 lane highway.

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Simply plonking in 55 watts AC digital ballast will improve 30 - 40% light output. This might help to a great extent. But the focus issue cannot be sorted as its the design. G1C has far better hotspot in highbeam. Also newer arrival of AES like G5C etc are much better too.Originally posted by anarchy911 View PostWhat if I put philips HID kit (with ballast) in the projector? Would that help? Upgrade the ballast to 55 watts AC digital ballast. And so for CREE LED fog lamps.Originally posted by anarchy911 View PostI own a Pulsar 180. You have mentioned it right , too much foreground lighting give a feeling that our lights are brighter , in reality it just impairs us from proper far vision.Originally posted by stefanm View PostIn my opinion those led spots, don't give you much distance lighting, at best they give you extra foreground lighting, which isn't really a good thing, it will affect your distance vision and give you the perception of better light. Now on most bikes the limiting factor is that they have single headlamps, which gives you an immediate disadvantage, even with a good oem hid projector.
So I would anytime suggest to select headlamps /projectors/HIDs which are good performers in highbeams , which very few are in reality.
And never go for flood light fog lamps. always choose tight focus spot beam fog lamps ... and adjust them in a way to point to infinity , slightly touching the grounds at a good distance. And remember LEDs are extremely irritating to oncomers , hence use them judiciously.
Also I would say , as far as projectors are concerned , KOITO & HELLA are the best in term of distance vision as they are great in highbeams.

So much of HIDs & LEDs without a single projector. Thats torture to the oncomers & on RVMS on highways . HUGE GLARING.Originally posted by Rahul.g View Post1 X 55w 5000k hid for headlight

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Guys, I have two queries for my AES G1 projector.
1. The cutaway is not parallel to the ground. It is a bit inclined towards right (left side is up and right side is down).
2. There is something wrong with the ballast. The light intensity has reduced over the period of time (1-2 months old). Can i put 55w ballast in it? Or, can i switch from this whole setup and put led lights inside the projector?
Reply asap, as light intensity is quite poor for night rides.
