I might be wrong but pulsar 220 projector is not plug and play on 180. Secondly you can't use hi/low xenon bulb ie H4 in that as Hi/Low in projector is controlled by help of a moving limiter which is situated between lens and the bulb. That projector wasn't meant to be used in dual beam (Hi/Low) fashion.
So no, not practical.
Costing? I don't think you can get the projector alone from the spare parts store unless you're buying the whole headlight kit. So search in used market.
Don't want to play with wiring? Forget.
Shouldn't affect battery as long as you use 35W HID.

Solution. Why not get a complete projector HID kit which is compatible with H4 socket? In local market I've seen these are selling around 1900 with a lens which is about 2 inch in diameter.

Sir, a shopkeeper today quoted me 5k for AES projector with HID. He said i could get cheaper chinese projectors.
How good/bad are these chinese projectors and how do they compare to AES one?

Also, rather than going for a full-sized one, can I use two single-beam small size projector lamps?

AES is chinese too.. cheaper ones have far worse optics quality and not upto mark for HID usage. you loose a lot of light ...
even if you going for AES. upgrade from 35W to 55W dsp ballast. tell seller to keep the 35W and give 55W. you will have far better illumination.

No idea.
I'm also looking to upgrade lights on my 180. I have thought of HID, HID + Projector, LED and what not. Right now a pair 5/10W LED spotlights mounted on crash guards making more sense and they seem reliable too. But I have no idea where to get them in Pune. Those who had are asking exorbitant price.

Bike won't support 55W HID. Please suggest RR upgrades and stator coil rewinding as well.

I thought of LED option as well, but i don't think they'll be of much use on the highway.

I don't want to do RR upgrades, as it will affect the resale considerably I think.

the newer Digital ballast does work even with low powered batteries.. thats why i mentioned DSP ballast..
however if the Ah rating is below 6 then might be an issue.

I have bought this
KTM Outlet kit - Handlebar & Instruments / Electric - KTM PowerParts

some shot from my cell

the diameter of the outlet is 12-13mm. Im not able to find a suitable adaptor for it. Adaptor used in cars are too big to fit.
On the top of it "6-24V = max16A " has been written. What does that mean.

Cheers
you will have to mount it somewhere on the fairing or frame however need good water protection else you will end up with busted fuse.

6-24 is the operating voltage and 16A is 16amp of load at max...

if you are unable to find any car chargers that fit into it.. then i guess reselling is the only option as all car chargers come in stock size..

if you return the 35W ballast that comes with the AES setup and opt for 55W ..give or take the dffrence wont be more than 1k.
however check with the dealer too or the guy who does the fitting if 55 will work with you bike as they will be able to assist further..
what battery you have on your bike....

Installing it is not a issue, though I think precision drilling will be. Dont not if the service centre have the right tools.

and if im not able to get a adaptor in India than whom i gona sell to it in India. so there is no question of selling.
Have already called my friend in Australia, hops he will come up with a solution from the ktm dealer. Im very positive as gps navigation are use by most of the bikers out there. it wont cost more than 10-20$. [ just a thought, as the Indian and US socket are different, it is clearly mention on there product to use right socket. ktm should have also gave a option to buy adaptor through them]

thanks for clearing the voltage Amp thing

Cheers

Good alternative LED headlight bulbs are available in marked you just need to find the correct as useless bulbs are in large quantity than good one as i found in mumbai .
Check the comparison picture Activa having LED Headlight & Passion having HID both are DC converted

2.How much you paid for the LED bulb.
3. While you were in the market did you find LED spotlights which you could install on crash guards. Here, couple of members got 5W or 10W pair for around 800. I could not find them in Pune.
