Amaron is better than exide...amaron has 2+2 years warranty.

U can go for a higher Ah battery, but in all probability it will be bigger in size and may not fit in the battery compartment.

U can install a 55/60 watt HID, battery will sustain it since ur stock headlight is also 55/60 watt...provided u install a reputed brand HID as chinese cheap HID consume more than rated power. Dont use HID along with stock halogen bulb, either this or that...and at rpms above 4000 u wont have problem, at lower rpms lower speed, u have to be cautious.

And yes installing an HID reliability will go down.

In my opinion install a philips extreme power bulb and it should be sufficient.

That 2 + 2 year warranty is actually not clear and easy as it sound.

First 2 year = Normal warranty, you get a new replaced battery.
other 2 year = You have to give your this battery + some cash and you get a new battery.

Its a loop to keep you in amaron.

Something like this. I heard the other day shopkeeper was explaining this to a biker.

Yes i know thats why i mentioned 2+2 instead of 4 years...still its better than exide which gives only 1 year warranty (last purchased few years ago...dont know current status)

              1 year ?
Nope. There are 2-3 type of warranty services in Exide.
12 months is the basic one.

I had replaced mine 7-8 months back and it comes with 18 months warranty.

Though Amaron & Exide is completely personal preference.

Let's leave this on the buyer from here.

Furthering the above, I was just told by the battery dealer that only exide, comes, with this spec and no amaron for duke. I basically won't be using the bike for 6 months from Nov, would be out of town. So should I even buy a new battery now?

                    Nope.
If you're battery is working for now. I hope it will work for 1 more month. 6 months of no usage is completely useless for a new battery. Just killing its life in short. Get a new battery once you're back on seat.

                    • Need suggestion to fit Halogen Projectors Or HID Conversion kit in My R15.

                      Hello,
I'm from Pune. Most of the times I use my bike to travel long distance that too during night. I face lot of problem with respect to clear visibility with stock lamps.
I have been searching internet from last 2 months for HID Projectors. Finally got stuck on 'The Retrofit Source' website. But they are very costly ( apprx Rs.24,000/- )!! Apart that I've to import them from US so additional 3k to 4k for shipping charges.
My query is that are good quality HID setup available in Mumbai or Pune?
Also kindly suggest me if there is any option to fit Projectors that can be used with the stock halogen bulbs. I've heard about halogen projectors but don't know if they are available to fit in R15.
It would be a great relief to get a refined solution for this.
                      Regards,
                      Rishi..

Buy Morimoto mini H1 projector kit from ebay. Thay are high quality pieces. There was someone on this thread who had one spare. Should cost you ~6.5k for the twin projectors (bulbs not included)

Did you get any additional lights done ? I noticed you are in Bangalore , I am searching for a similar setup . I had been to JC road for window shopping . I noticed all sorts of lights starting from 500Rs all the way upto 5000Rs . None of them come with any sort of warranty or guarantee. I did come across some good quality LED light in Jayanagar 4th block . The seller quoted 5k a pair and since it was LED , it will not have any effect on the stock battery too (thats what the seller claimed atleast). Please let me know if you come across any good quality light .
I ride CBZ xtreme and the stock headlights are useless.
No bro, I haven't yet got it done....
I don't know where the bike ends and I begin...If heaven doesn't allow bikes..I'll ride mine straight to hell.

OK , there is a place in Church street called biking spirit , they sell Denali LED lights , wondering if anyone has got it installed. It will cost a minimum of 5K a pair (My guess work). Please let me know if you come across any similar or reliable brands . Is this thread active?

                            • Night riding ruined because of headlight, help needed

                              Hello
I have a Honda Unicorn, have ridden 11000Kms on it and it has never let me down.
However the Headlight is a PITA. The moderators will guide to older threads as this is discussed so so so so...many times but with so much information it is confusing.
                              There are so many options-
projector lamp, xenon bulb, hid kit and so on.

I need a practical and reliable solution for modding my bikes's headlight so that I can cruise at highway at ease in NIGHT.
I am at Bangalore (Kothanur-560077) now, so the questions are as follows-
                              1. Which modification to do to change from stock headlight?
                              2. Which brand to choose for?
                              3. Any good electrical mechanic nearby to do the conversion?
                              4. Estimate cost?

                              Thanks in advance
PS: I have already converted my bike to DC. Went to a local mechanic for recoiling and he said that he has to redo the wiring to convert it to ac and then do the recoiling.
