Fixing of additional lights to Unicorn
Hi,
As the lighting of Unicorn is very bad, I am planning of fixing additional lights to it. I checked with my mechanic and he told me that there will be no issues in doing it and the connection for the same will done to the battery directly.
My concern is, will it have any impact on the wiring of the bike and will I have any issues during my long rides.
Note: My unicorn is just 10 months old.
I don't know where the bike ends and I begin...If heaven doesn't allow bikes..I'll ride mine straight to hell.

Query Approved.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Re: Fixing of additional lights to Unicorn
Rs.1200 a piece..took them from a friend who had bought them from ebay
LED projector 10W each..
One on each side..
The light is crazy..real crazy
Used them on highway and moderate city use..no battery drain issue
Problem is..anyone can easily remove them...mine were about to get stolen so removed them...can be mounted in 10mins or so
Use responsibly

Re: Fixing of additional lights to Unicorn
I replaced my stock halogen (35w) with a 12/18w led bulb. The led is way brighter than the halogen. The lumens output is 2000 as written on the box. The only problem is that the beam is scattered everywhere. I want it to be thrown on the road. Sometimes the reflection from the back of a vehicle in front blinds my own eyes. The blueish color doesn't light up the road as well as the yellow light. I have installed it on my pulsar 180 ug 4. What can I do now to get better road visibility and a focused beam? I've spent nearly 2000 bucks buying it and then getting it installed. So removing it is our of question, period. Also the headlamp comes with a cooling fan attached behind and the assembly set contains clips, clamps and springs so that it can be installed on any bike.
What I'd like to find out is that if I apply a light yellowish/brownish layer on the headlight, will the road visibility improve? (I don't mind if the brightness is reduced) . Also, is there a converging lens type layer I can apply on the headlight to focus the beam on the road?

I've got 2x LED lights for my Pulsar 220.
5W each = 10W total.
Should I care for watts ?
Or 10Watts won't be an issue and direct fit with a On/off switch is Okay ?

Re: Fixing of additional lights to Unicorn
Back in the 80's we used to paint the top portion of the headlight black. Back then it was a requirement. It might work in your case. OR change the reflector. Stock reflector is designed to reflect halogen light. That's why halogen reflector don't go with HID. In your case LED!Originally posted by shreyakms View PostI replaced my stock halogen (35w) with a 12/18w led bulb. The led is way brighter than the halogen. Always calculate Watt/Voltage=Ampere. So how much voltage and Ampere is your battery?Originally posted by Sird View PostI've got 2x LED lights for my Pulsar 220.

What is the setup of your pulsar? AC or DC? Sorry I'm not familiar with pulsar.
From your manual what is the wattage of each electrical like tail lamp, head lamp, speedometer lamp, indicator lamp etc etc. If you can calculate your self then good. If not post all that here and I can tell you how much extra load your battery can take.
On the other hand you can also jugaad like most of 'em do and not care for your bike. Your choice.[emoji3]Motorcycle Trip log - Summer ride to N. Sagar | Leh 2012 - A story told in pictures | Winter in Darjeeling 2018 | Summer in Goa 2018 |
