Looks like difference in price at different places
    Guys, it was all mis-communication.

The guy from AK Traders never said anything about the ballasts, I enquired with
other shops and the price that I heard was between 8500 - 9000. After questioning him
for the price difference he said "Aapke paas ballast he na?", man i was like .
The thing is, the ballast comes in a different box which is about 4250-4500 and
HID & wiring comes in other box which is another 4250-4500, so together it is about 8500-9000 in Bangalore.

I sincerely apologize for sharing the wrong prices guys. Please do forgive.

            • Does the light output of Halogen bulb decrease over time??
I think that the brightness of my headlamp (Pulsar 150 UG4) has become less as compared to when my bike was new(2.5 yrs back).
Or can there be other possibilities for this reduction in light??

There would be no difference in size of same type bulb i.e H4 35/35w , H4 55/60w , H4 100/90 bulb are same in size , so it will gonna fit easily in the reflector .

Bulb flicker means its on AC , so make a DC conversion .

Or as you said it is DC but still flickers means battery is not able to provide full power to it .

But you also said it become bright when you press pass switch , as pass switch provide a direct dc supply to high beam so it means your headlight is on AC that's why it is flickering .

Over the time the dirt goes inside the reflector , battery becomes weak , so they are the reason for the low brightness mostly .

Using it in my ZMR from more than 8 month , output is good but if you want normal yellow get it from maruti showroom which would cost you around 85 rupees while this one costs around 500 rupees .

IF you want just a tint of White light in your beam go for it, other wise if you want pure white light then go for

Philips Lighting India - DiamondVision - Philips

dont get disappointed if you expect pure white light from the bulbs you referred

Often times the reflector fades or dust accumulates on it or the lens becomes dull.
Sometimes the bulb may get blackened.
Cleaning and replacing the bulb would solve the problem.

Also check the condition of battery as UG4 headlight works on DC.

                        • As shown by drvtm how to adjust the hib bulb I found a very good result in my r15 v.1.0. The spread is much better and even the reach of the beam has increased. Hid bought from navnish the best hid I have come across till date and it's bang on buck. Using it for more than 1.5 years no problems till date. I would suggest to buy hid from him as its a lot more than what you pay for. And those who prefer direct bulbs no hid I have found an Phillips OEM dealer in pune- anand marketing f.c road. I'll try to clean the bulb & reflector..
Though the battery looks gud(the bike starts on 1st push of button) but the speedo shows the battery icon sometimes when headlights are ON..
The battery is stock about 2.5 yrs old...

thanks "above all" for the reply. te manual for royal enfield tbts says that the electrical set up in the bike is full d.c the bike comes with a 35/35w stock halo bulb, for better visibility i had plonked a 55/60w halo. the results wer gud at beginin but later on due to excess heat the reflector developed burnt holes in it gradually became very dull. therefore i said the stock reflector doesnt support a 55/60w halo.yesterday got an ambassador reflector n thankfully it was a direct fit though i had 2 change the bulb type, hopin for a better output now.
n is there any possibilities of the battery getting weak which is resulting the flickerin of the halo coz its a dc set up?
