Above_All at resque Indicator socket type is 1156 / ba9s on most of bikes , a search link for little more help smd led 1156 | eBay

Jokes apart , For HH bikes it is 1156 / ba9s , it may be 1156 / ba9s for pulsar i am not sure . If both pins of bulbs which get locked in holder are at same height then it would be 1156 / ba9s .

                • Lighting set up for R17

                  Hi all,

a friend of mine recently got his Yamaha R15 (Now R17) fully souped up courtesy Joel, Race Concepts. Unfortunately, He met with an accident (collision with a stationary truck thanks to unmarked turns and construction without any warning signs on the unlit highway and the poor stock lights on the bike). thank god nothing happened to him.

He primarily blames the poor lighting of the stock bike which were completely useless on an unlit road.. hence, would request you to kindly suggest an option where the low beam is on 55W and on high beam, both 55W & 35W light up since, on a busy highway with traffic from the opposite side, most of the time on ends up keeping on low beam. Will the stock battery be able to take the load when on high beam with both the 55W and 35W lit? and yes the rider would ensure that the lights will only come on when the bike's engine is running .. no stupidity on that front and not other electrical mods have been done to put any extra load on the bike's electricals..

Offlately i have heard that Osram Nighbreaker 55W/60 is not exactly a good option as during rains, the visibility of the beam goes for a Toss?

HID is not an option as of now as he had spent a significant amount of greens for all the power up kits. Please suggest a good brand for the same, i am not sure whether R15 supports H4 bulb. Kindly do reply to this query.

                  Cheers

Hi bro, sad about your friend.
I'll suggest you to give a chance to Philips Xtreme 55/60w, this bulb has an enormous low beam spread plus an awesome high beam throw up to many distance you can see. I'm using it, in my Karizma R. I bought one at Rs 580/-
You can put this bulb for high beam only, first, to feel the difference, later you can switch both bulbs to this one!
Although the light is white, but it has never gave me any difference even in rains. And this bulb is really a great buy!

PS: Do put a relay for each bulb to obtain the maximum output! And again, the closer the relay is to the bulb the more output you'll get. (closer in terms of wire length and resistance)

                    • Hi
I'm looking forward to improving the stock headlight setup on my Pulsar 150 UG4(all DC). I do not plan to install HID. What other options do I have??
Can I install a 55/60 halogen directly?? Plz guide me..

                      • I am using 55 w philips premum 85 bucks in R15 high beam only..
in city ride and less require occassions, I use low beam only.. so only 35W..
and on highway and on high rev I switch to high beam.. means 35W + 55W.. on high speed the battery keep getting charged..

in case of any battery drain, you can simply switch to low beam, which consumes lesser wattage.. And you can use the high beam(55W), only when required to save any battery.. if you fit it in low beam, you will always be with 55W on.

no probs faced what so ever since 6 months..

                        hope it helps..

                        • ^Same here, just keep the tacho above 4k while using the 55w High beam to ensure better charging rate of the battery than in lower rpms.

Didn't you add a relay to the 55w bulb?
If yes, then it won't affect the battery, and you don't have to run in high rpms always. You can even use both bulbs as 55 w with relays to them. There won't be any battery issue, relay will judge and then won't allow the bulb to glow unless the required potential difference is achieved.
