Relays
Just need a heads up before I go searching and waste my time, I want to know are SPDT and DPDT relays easily available? and if they are, can you easily find the sockets for them?Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Re: Relays
Hi xBHPians,
This is my first post to xBHP.
I own a Pulsar 150 DTSi(July 2008 manufactured). I want to upgrade the headlight to 55W, or HID's with projector(only 4300K street legal).
I read through the thread to check if I can go through Avenger's coil mod and plonk in Ape RR unit, but i am not sure if my bike has DC setup or AC+DC one.
About my bike:
1) After turning off the engine using kill switch, the headlight stays ON for few seconds at full intensity before it cuts off.
2) There is NO flickering of light even at engine idling.
3) Digital display, tachometer, pilot lamps, tail lights can run on battery if engine is off.
4) My bike has got scoops on tanks but no clipons, so i doubt if it is UG4.
Doubts:
1) Can someone please confirm if my bike already has DC setup, and whether it is UG3 or UG4?
2) If it is full DC, can I use 55W Osram/Philips/Halonix directly without any modifications?
3) Can I use the following SMD LED's as pilot lamps to save precious 10W? Will these LED's fit into pilot lamp connectors?
4) Is there any way by which I can save power on indicators and number plate bulbs? Can these be replaced with something more efficient?
Thanks,
Nitish Singla

Re: Relays
Hi Nitesh, From the points mentioned above I can say your bike is DC, you can use Avenger's stator and plonk in a 55W bulb. But For HID it wont be enough, you will need a new high capacity RR unit.Originally posted by Nitish Singla View PostSomeone... Please help!!!!

As per the link http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...d-etc-411.html , we cannot use Avenger's stator because avy is AC electrical bike and my pulsar has Full DC system. Is there any particular stator i should look for? Or i will need to do coil rewinding(which I am avoiding due to reliability issues).
Please correct me if my understanding is not correct.
Will order white SMD's
Thanks,

Re: Relays
I'm myself a noob at electricals, try checking Pulsar 180 UG4 stator coil, it may be compatible and work for you as it can easily pull 55/60W bulbs with 0 modifications. Coil rewinding if done properly is as reliable as stock, My friend is running on 19G winding on my Pulsar 180UG3 from past 2 years and no problems so far.Originally posted by Nitish Singla View PostHi,

Re: Relays
Thanks for the reply.... I think Pulsar 180 coil should be same as Pulsar 150 coil, no hard evidences though.Originally posted by RSM2852 View PostI'm myself a noob at electricals, try checking Pulsar 180 UG4 stator coil, it may be compatible and work for you as it can easily pull 55/60W bulbs with 0 modifications. Re: Relays
Yeah, P180 and P150 uses the same coil. Avenger 180 has AC coil, you can rewind it in DC mode and install it with Ape RR. It would cost around 3000 rupees. Or you can Replace all three bulbs (2 pilots and 1 rear license plate) to LED to save power and use a 55watt headlamp.I am back!

Re: Relays
Thanks a lot bro.... Will go for bulb replacement first. If it drains battery too much, then I will upgrade the stator coil.Originally posted by Cleaner View PostYeah, P180 and P150 uses the same coil. I am planning to use generic 55W from Osram/Philips before upgrading to Philips Extreme Vision.
Also, can SMD's be used for rear number plate? Can I use same SMD's for pilot lamps and number plate(will holder be same)?
Thanks

Battery Issues
Query Approved/Merged
Hey fellow xbhpians,I own a cbz 3rd model and 2011 make,as we all know that the lighting in Hero just sucks,so after purchasing my bike I fitted white halogen lamps but my battery got drained so I had to remove the light, but now I am facing serious riding issues in night riding so please can you guide me to fit what battery ? Company provides 5 Ah battery but its not enough, can I fit higher capacity battery, will it affect the wirings ? What all changes are required to fit this battery ?
