  • Headlight upgrade on pulsar UG4( converted from UG2 to UG4)

    Hi Experts,

Need your help here.. I was having a pulsar 150 UG2 model. I have converted that to 180 first. Now changed the bike to full DC. Previously i was using a re-winded coil with 100/90 watt bulb. Now because of the the DC conversion am back to stock coil set up (I.e 35/35 Watt). Now i need to update it to at-least 60/55 set-up. I am sure the default stock wont support 100/90. So do i have an option to rewind the coil here, If i re-wind the coil also, do i need to change any other part. Planning to get Philips relay kit for the same, even planned for NGK Iridium plugs and Split fire cables, Any suggestions are really appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Sam

One more doubt, what is the maximum current produced by pulsar ug4 alternator? Do the ug4 regulator has any limit to allow the max amp current, I heard ape RR will allow more current, is it a direct fit for pulsar ug4? Did anybody did the coil rewinding in DC stator? When my bike was AC/DC I did the coil rewinded from ruby electrical. Not sure they will do that on full DC stator also

Well technical LEDs ands angel lights should not be fines afak but HIDs without proper projector lens are fined as they cause glare to oncoming traffic and can bind the driver in the opposite lane .. Hence cause accidents

The ug4 RR will allow 5amps. Where as the ape RR is 20 amps

Well I dont know that socket type it looks like the one you get in fog lamps. I wouldn't recommend that kit for the simple fact that it does NOT have a projector to focus the hid and would cause glare to on coming vehicles , and like I tell my friends when buying phones buy cheap buy twice.

                    • Help needed for HID installation on Bajaj Pulsar 150cc

                      Hi Members,
With much excitement I bought a HID 8000K Xenon light and asked a technician to install it up. While installation, he tried switching on the light but nothing happened. Whenever he used to switch on the bike, the bulb used to flicker and stops completely. And, this happened multiple times.

Now, When He removed the HID Relay ( Picture Attached ) and plugged a spare wire to it. The Bulb glows with no problem and there was no flicker. He concludes that its a problem with the HID relay but when earlier , I installed the same HID to one of my Alto's Headlight , it glowed with no problem.

I need you help guys to know what is happening. Is it really a BAD HID relay or something wrong with installation that is causing the problem. Please also teach me where goes what ?

I did some DIY for my P150 UG3. Replaced stock slator plate with Avenger 180's plate. Installed Halonix 55/60W bulb and tested for a month. It increased the headlamp focus but it has burnt the upper part of silver portion inside headlamp assembly due to excessive heat. See the picture, damaged portion is in red square :

I am thinking to upgrade the headlamp to Philips Extreme Vision. It has 'High quality quartz glass'. Does this reduces the heat?
I'm worried about the heating problem. If Philips Extreme Vision is also going to omit the excessive heat then I must revert back to 35W bulb.

Or any option of better headlamp assembly which is capable of working with this kind of heating? Please suggest.

Check headlamp assembly ventilation, to be honest all 55/60 watt halogen bulbs will generate the same amount of heat so moving to Xtreme Vision would not help your case. Try HIDs.

With all this talk of lighting, can someone plz make a list of what is and is not legal lighting mods in Mumbai... Coz I have blue led angel lights and cops fined me for having colored lights on the bike. I would like to know what is and is not allowed. I'm also planning to attach those blue lights on my tyre valve that light up only when the bike moves... Also planning to attach leds above the back tire or focused under the bike... So someone plz tell me if all this is legal and allowed?
