    Hi Guys

I have a Pulsar UG 4.5. I installed Philips extreme vision 60/55. Now the brightness is lot better . The low battery icon flashes at idling rpms. So I want to get the stator coil rewound and RR unit replaced. Can any one suggest where to get this done near Rammurthy Nagar?

P.S the headlight dome heats up quite a bit. Is this normal? I dont want a molten headlight mid way.

Another question is, will it damage the reflector?

      Thanks.
The modification would be like rewindend startor coil and rr upgrade to ape rr or any full wave charger.
and the reflector damage would depend on its quality but with time it would fade though.
when i used 55/60 watts on my pep+ the reflector melted from the top due to heat. I used h4 by modifying the bulb holder.

pulsar's reflector would take 55/60 watts though the life of the reflector would decrease.
Try with ape rr first stock coil would take the load with the rr upgrade only.

Thanks rprathin. Any suggestions where I can get this done around here? Indiaranagar(Bangalore) side would also be fine for me. I dont want the electricals to be messed up.

Edit: I saw in your profile that you are from UP.

Any bikers from Bangalore, can you please help?

          • Urgent help

            Hi Guys,
Need an urgent help. I am going on a tour in couple of days from now. I want both lights of the 220 to turn on when the switch position is at HIGH beam. Is this possible? If yes, can anyone of you please elaborate since I would be having one technician as my company this Sunday morning.

                Simple mod would be

when high beams is on, it activates low beams using RELAY.

Its possible but as you said you are going on tour it would eat up your batt.
Not advisable on long tour mate.

                    Thanks.
Brother I have a old activa.
As per my knowledge your aviator runs a 5amp batt and has ac + dc setup
We cant simply run a 55/60 in our ride as the electricals wont sustain.
The most reliable mod will rewinding and putting a ape rr which would convert ur aviator into full dc
                    Now u hav two options
                    1) u can go for 55/60 halogen
                    2) a 35w hid under 6000k(not a cop magnet)
M using the 2nd setup currently n having no problems
And m also having wide tone.
Plonking a 55/60 would not harm the reflector.

                    Till now no problem.
                    Hope this helped.

had you converted using the ape rr
if yes than how much max current does the stator gives
is it enough for 55/60 watts
                      if no
then how are you using the hid??

Guys one of my pilot lamp has fallen inside the dome. Can I take it out from behind or do I have to open the front glass with a hot gun?

inside the dome where the reflector is there then you can take out by taking out the bulb only

Hi. Can I upgrade Yamaha Ray' headlamp to higher rated one ? Say 55 w or philips xtremevision of 35 would give better light? I find Ray's head light is good but beam focus on the road is not so sharp. Beam Spread is ok. But the overall illumination is low for highway riding.

No I have not converted to full dc
As my daily running is about 60 km the batt gets completly charged during the day
I did not need the conversion as I drive less at night
Still the batt is sufficient to lit up my hid for 2 1/2 hr of continuous useage after dat voltage dips
It si not dat the hid stops working but while starting(self start) it does not start.
If u drive less at night then no need for going rewinding.
                                The batt can sustain.
For completly charging the batt 20 kms of drive is enough..!

And I have connected the hid directly to the batt.
Conversion is in line will do soon.
