I don't know if you're talking about abhi's stock bulb or if he's plonked a 55w halogen; but ZMR comes with 35w as stock.Originally posted by rajaselvam_1987 View PostYou can go with HID's, The bi-Xenon is nothing but it's having the Hi/Low beam function nothing different from normal xenon's. But one thing don't go with local Chinese HID. It'll not show you the real HID illumination & also suck your battery. Always go with a branded one it'll show you the real illumination & never dry your battery, A branded 35W HID will consume less current than the 60W halogen but will give 300% more illumination.. Your ZMR is already powered by a 60W halogen so the 35W branded HID will never suck your battery,
But, I agree to all other points of yours!
Abhi, 35w HID is more than enough! You don't need to put in relays or upgrade to a bigger battery with the 35w bi-xenon setup.Originally posted by abhi7013 View PostThanks a lot!! But can you recommend any particular Bi-xenon hid? And are you sure a 35W is enough? Is there anything available more than the 35w one? If so i guess illumination would be better than the 35W one? And what would be the approx cost? Be it 35W or higher
Me thinks, a philips HID kit should cost about 3.5k to 4k (not sure about exact price). Chinese ones start from 1.2k.
Try HID with P220 projectors too.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

My Avenger 200s headlamp recently broke and I have decided to put in a project headlight. Initially, I was looking for something similar to the one below, but I was not able to get the required casing after searching around in Kochi as well as online.
This above one will protect me from the cops in the city and help on touring as well.
Right now, since the time is short (ISg2g is coming up in a month), I am looking for any setup with a single chrome headlight which can fit in the projector.
The stock headlamp does not have the depth to fit in a BMW or a E63 bi xenon one..they have a depth of about 5.5" and 6.5" respectively. Since there is no fairing, I am concerned on how to protect the setup also.
Any help/advice/

(here 18, 28 and 36 being just the number of LEDs in one such unit). Just confirm what size your bike's pilot lamp area can accommodate and buy the LEDs accordingly.
Good LED, Bad LED hmm I don't know. But I know one thing Good LEDs are those found in an Audi, Merc, BMW, Duc etc and Bad LEDs are what we generally use in our bike as pilot lamps.
Can't afford the "Good" LEDs now, so going for the local ones is okay. Just test it before you buy.thanks for the infoOriginally posted by sunny_ View PostRs 550 a piece will be a good deal.
No pilot lamps. You can buy white LEDs separately.
P.S: A relay is must to enjoy the full brightness

Hmmm. Will i be able to get a white light like the HID produces in other lower cost ones?? With almost same brightness. Cause 3.5-4k is out of my budget for a headlight!!Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostI don't know if you're talking about abhi's stock bulb or if he's plonked a 55w halogen; but ZMR comes with 35w as stock.

Abhi, one frank question. You have clocked ~20k right?Originally posted by abhi7013 View PostHmmm. Will i be able to get a white light like the HID produces in other lower cost ones?? With almost same brightness. Cause 3.5-4k is out of my budget for a headlight!!
How many more kms are you planning to ride your ZMR?
If its going to be 50K, go for an HID (the proper Philips 3.5-4K one). Save for 4-5 months.
If not, then plonk an Osram Night Breaker or Philips Xtreme Vision. You'll be more than happy.
But, I feel you can PM Sachin Nair (mumbai) for the projectore setup thingy.
Look at his bike in his profile, you'll love it!

Pls don't advice like this if u are not sure about the outcome. Normal 35W HID kit will consume not less than 9A at startup and then it will return to the normal 3.2A =35W state. For the initial surge, a relay is a must for the sake of better stock switch life span. It will run with that for some time without a relay and eventually it will goes off after a period of time.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostAbhi, 35w HID is more than enough! Are u sure about the Philips HID kit is available for 3-4K? Still I dont think its a good option as the irritating part is they have only 6000K nowadays which is not good for visibility.Do it Yourself, what so ever, if Possible

Sorry if I gave an impression of not being sure about the part highlighted by you. I said I'm unsure about the pricing.Originally posted by sajjt View PostPls don't advice like this if u are not sure about the outcome. Moreover, I suggested the above setup because a colleague at work has the same setup on his ZMA. He's currently running on 6 AH battery and his 35W HID is running minus a relay for the past 9-10 months or so.
He bought a 4300K Philips for 3500/- (labor not included)
Update - I was reading Sajjit's projector + hid mod thread
http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/desi-bik...r-150-a-8.html.
Awesome work I must say.
Cost him 12K though. Wonder how my friend claims only 3.5K!
But he's not using a relay for sure.Last edited by Divya Sharan; 10-04-2012, 05:52 PM.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Hi
I have a Pulsar 150 UG4. I travel 35kms daily(one-way) & return trips are mostly after dark. I'm currently not satisfied with the stock setup. Please suggest Should I go with a Projector with Halogen or Projector+HID. Since I use the PASS switch regularly that is why not thinking of HIDs. What would be the cost for the Projector? From where would I get one near Faridabad/Gurgaon? What about HIDs?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I own Yamaha FZ-16 and I am pretty disappointed with the headlights and I have decided to go for Bi-xenon projector headlights. My budget is 4-5K.
I am located in Mumbai. Do you guys know a reputed and trusted place in Mumbai where I can get this done?

Rather than projectors spend that amount in a good quality HID kit..Originally posted by Stanley27 View PostI own Yamaha FZ-16 and I am pretty disappointed with the headlights and I have decided to go for Bi-xenon projector headlights. My budget is 4-5K.
