  • Guys...
One of my friend want to improve the lightings of his P200.He doesn't want to play with the durability factor, so I suggested him not to alter the electricals and just to put a 55/60 Phillips bulb
But the lighting is not sufficient in the 55/60 bulb and he is planning to get one of the xenon projectors.

Can anyone suggest where can I get a good projector for P200 in Bangalore ?
Is it safe to use it, how durable it will be...anyone already using in any AC bike ?

    Experts...Please advice !!!

Can I cut the reflector in my ZMA, put a projector and fix my H4 bixenon (Navnish's) inside it ?

P200 stock electricals are designed to take a 35W halogen, if u plonk a 55W wont improve the brightness, try swapping the console lights and tails with LEDs it will add a few more lumens.

Xenons wont run on AC, so go for DC conversion. If he doesnt want to tamper the electricals then go for projectors which uses a H1/H3 halogen lamp which will run straight away on AC but the performance will be dull compared to HID and you will repent on ur bulb selection and ultimately will return to HID.

No projector can take a H4 base bulb take it as granted I dont want to hurt any one but if any one claims it so its baseless. period.

P220 uses a H7 projector so only a H7 bulb will go in, if you try to do some juggad and some how managed to put another bulb base too, u wont get a desired beam spread.

same here..........mine rattles too...........you can fix it to metal frame......by insulation tape.

btw.....how have you guys fixed the HID ballast, coz in my case.....it rattles too..........i have placed it inside headlamp fairing and tried to fix it with insulation tape but comes off after some days....may be the heat causes the tape to melt.

Hey thats very easy on a Pulsy, I've mounted on the same place where the stock RR was mounted. Only difference is, stock RR will go inside where the APE will stay outside.

See my pic, it never give any trouble for the last 2 years.

I've kept the ballast within the hl assy as its got a slot where a ballast can easily slide in and secured with supplied clamp to the HL assy to make sure it wont rattle in that place.

Sorry dont've any pics right now, shall post it next time I open my HL assy

All my 3 relays are within the fairing so that there wont be any water seepage. Only thing is, wires are cluttered and no other person than me can recognize which wire goes to where

Hey, any idea how much will a wire crimping tool cost? I would like to do it in a neat way so that there wont be any twisted wire joints.

                  • @sajjt: i think u have the old pulsar, in your pic, RR unit is beside the battery, our pulsars are UG3 ones and stock RR used to be beneath rear seat.

wire crimping tool does not cost much......my relay is placed near battery.

i have also placed the ballast at the same place, but i am wondering.....how have you bolted it.

Haven't came across with a UG3 so no idea.

About the ballast, let me take a pic first, then you'll come to know

                        Princesirohi,

Refer the Pictures below it may give you some Idea, I have used an Horn clamp as an extention for mounting the RR to the Stock RR place and the ballast is mounted near Crash gaurd.
and ofcourse mine is Pulsar UG3.
before anybody asks why I have two RRs , Reason is that i'm using stock RR to regulate AC and Ape RR to regulate DC from the Avy coil.

I have My HID in an Aux headlamp, I have started working on Mounting an Projector in place of the Aux lamp.
                        will post pics tomorrow.

                        • need some suggestions.

I own a Karizma ZMR. Recently on a night ride to Mysore i realized that my stock headlamp is inadequate for night riding.

I am looking at getting the bulb replaced. HID's are also an option, but the thing is i have seen how bright they are and i personally don't see the need for something "that" bright.

It would be nice if someone could suggest a better bulb, for some better visibility, it would also be of great help if someone could let me know the price and any store in Bangalore where it would be available. If HID is last resort please suggest temperature of lamp and cost.

                              • Vinu nice idea! Using the old RR to mount the new RR!
@Prince: Man the ballast is a robust device. It has a very thick layer of silicon epoxy over the entire PCB and the transformer and everything inside. I've opened a few ballasts just to see what's inside and I found this. Even the connectors are waterproof as there are rubber gaskets on them.

                                Any more mounting ideas?
