Friends, I have purchased a bi-xenon 35w bulb with ballast and its H4
The first two pics are of the OEM bulb and its connector.
the third pic is of the connection diagram of the HID and the fourth pic is of the HID without its ballast and the connected wires.
after opening up the OEM bulb, I realised that I cannot do the connection as the OEM bulb was connected only to the connector as in second pic. I realised the HID is not plug and play.
as I don't know anything about electricals will you Guru s please help me?

well from the picture the circuit seems pretty straightforward. The only place where you have to get your hands dirty is the battery connection and the HI-Lo connection. Everything else has a socket connector and they're pretty much plug and play. Now in your H4 socket, 3 wires are present. I'm guessing the black wire is common, the yellow wire is low beam power and green is high beam power. If thats the case then you'll have to cut three of them and insulate the common wire as you don't need it. Then you'll have to connect the yellow and green wire to the white and blue wire from the controller(Labeled Hi,Lo in the picture). And the battery connection is just straightforward, just remember to put a fuse in series with the positive terminal. Just to be on the safe side, I suggest you get hold of a multimeter and check the H4 socket to find which wire is which (HI, LOW, COM) then if you are not in for a DIY session, consult a good mechanic and oversee the whole process. Ask him what he is doing and why. Try to guide him as per your understanding. And if everything is alright, you'll be greeted with bright white light. BTW did you buy a projector also ?

the diagram is self explanatory as anindyameister already mentioned.
What you should have got is the relay and the wiring harness with the bulb and the ballast.
This particular wiring harness might have a 3 pin socket, which will directly match (as a male socket) the pic no 2 of your attached.
Just plug it in there and your done...

If you don't have that wiring harness as well as the relay with it, ask for it from the seller.

BTW there's no glare shield on the bulb, ever considered how will it differ high and low beams ??

exactly NANO, a plug and play harness would be the best option for people who don't want to mess around with their bike too much.

@Prakritij You really should consider buying a projector or glare shield, as HID with regular reflector sends out too much glare and is a nuisance to oncoming traffic and is a cop magnet . These topics have already been discussed on the thread. Go back and review the thread, you might find exactly what you are looking for.

          • Does HID with projector have any issues if we use, as a regular bulb, for dipper during daytime ?

remember reading in some post that it using it this way will damage the ballast...

Yes I know it and I even inquired in the P220 thread about the cost of projector in http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...tml#post706475 two Days ago

I think the HIDs needs some time to warm up and come to working temperatures. Using pass light takes just a fraction of a second which is not sufficient to warm up the HID. Experts can tell you more

Can anyone PLEASE help me as for where to source a Projector esp. in Kerala. I already have a Bulb all I need is a Projector.

P.S.: For fitting the Projector I need to open the Headlight, how can I do it? My Bike is R15

Exactly... that was the reason mentioned.
Would like to know from experts here...how do they use the pass light when they have HID with projector....or is that a trade-off we have to live with ?

If u've got the universal base plates for H7, u can go for P220 lens else u've wasted ur money for a H4 Bixen for putting it on a H7 which is not possible due to the base difference.

Yes its a trade off if u go for a bi xen lens, instead u can try halogen aux lamps for flashing.

You can ask the accessory shops here, and some of them are giving warranty for the entire kit. Always go for a kit with a warranty of atleast 6 months as it'll give u peace of mind for the money u've spent than settling with non-warranty kits which will be a few hundred bucks less than the first types.

Opening the HL glass requires lil patience, u can google for opening HL glass in youtube which will give u better idea about the whole process.

For H4 stock connector can be saved by using the H4 male connecter like this. For R1, u need two H7 connectors to achieve this.

                        hey guys
                        i own a dio
                        with bixenon projector installed
                        and upgraded the
                        battery to 9lb one
and the rectifier is changed to some other bikes,

once the mechanic opened my coil
as the bike wasnt getting charged
so he said the coil is damaged n he rewinded
by removing the damaged part of the wire n soldered new wire n spinned few wire

and from then the bike is running ultra fine
and no charging problem till date
                        .
but after reading about coil rewinding and all over here
i doubt whether my coil is rewinded or not
is it rewinded or not guys ?

and im very happy with the electrical setup and charging
but do i still need to change to APE RR UNit
                        and ground the wires ?

                        • Hey guys. I have fitted a 35W 4300K Bi-Xenon HID(bought from Navnish) on my RE C5. I have been using it without any problems whatsoever for the past month or so. But I am finding the glare to be too much on my stock reflectors. I have read about it in some previous posts as well. I guess Pankaj had suggested me to go for MFRs instead of my stock Polarized Glass Reflectors to improve the illumination and beam spread. I some what agree to that.
Now, in the last few posts, I have read about using projectors for optimal use of HIDs. How do I go about fitting a projector in my C5? And, correct me if I am wrong,a projector can be installed in the existing reflector right?
