Yeap..I had to explain it to him how solenoid works and all...then he let me go..also he was not in mood to fine me...Originally posted by sajjt View PostIf u alter anything other than stock then its illegal. If u put HID on projectors too, its illegal as its not approved by the DOT for that particular vehicle. Same applicable to aux lamps with halogens they can fine u.
HID on reflectors not only illegal but u r blinding others which will cause accidents, the colour temp doesn't've any role in this. CT plays for ur optimum visibililty factors not for the legal issues.
Its all depends on the discretion of the officer who stops u, if they stop for such activities, am sure that not even a single vehicle will be spared from this as putting a strip of LEDs are also falling into this. So don't try to convince them that its legal, its still Illegal.

Headlamps for R15
Hi Everyone,
I own a R15 and the headlamps are not up to the mark. I am planning to change the lamps only not to HID's as I don't wanna invest thousands on the lights only.
Please suggest me the best lamps for both low and high beams without any change to the electrical's.
I was planning to put Philips H4 55/60W on both the lamps. Can I go ahead with it?? Please suggest.2009 - Pulsar UG4- 28,000 Kms
2010 - Santro Xing - 9,900 Kms
2011 - YZF - R15 - 2,000 Kms

get an ape RR (Rs. 1100) & get your stator rewinded (approx. Rs. 500), do a bit of wiring mod & you're done.My 35 watts hid on my tvs flame is draining my brand new 9 amp amaron battery....... If i keep the hid on and run the bike for 15-20 mins, it drains the battery...... Plz help me plz. Wht should i do.....
140W is (lighting + charging + ignition) available at more than 6000RPM, you'll get only around 15W for charging battery at idling.Hello guys,

For running a HID without draining your battery, you need to produce around 40~50W at idling, not possible with your current setup.
Stock wiring can support only 35W, given a 55/60W, won't work to its full potential. There would hardly be any noticeable problem with the reflector.BUT WILL THE 55/60 BULB GLOW AT ITS FULL POWER WITH STOCK WIRING N BATTERY N WILL IT AFFET MY HEADLIGHT REFLECTOR.
Simply plonking in a 55/60W bulb won't help, stock stator won't supply enough power to a 55/60W bulb. You need to boost the power output to install a 55/60W to extract its full juice.Last edited by Abhijeet Bhattacharjee; 10-17-2011, 07:13 PM.Its the fusion of a two wheeled machine & a human being which creates a true biker.
