thanks for the replyOriginally posted by abhilashabhi12 View PostPrice is Ok, Infact better than what I had paid an year before, where is this rewinding done by the way ??
If you dont mind paying 100bucks extra head over to Ruby Electrical in lalbagh road they are the best to do this in Bangalore.
Do the rewinding & if you are lucky enough you may get juice to light 100w Bulb

I am getting this rewinding done at a local mechanic. The power to light up a 100w might be difficult because its just a 125cc
.
Would it effect the warranty in anyway??NOT BEEN THERE NOT DONE THAT

as long as the svc does not find out about it, the warranty will not be void....Originally posted by madhav krishna View Postthanks for the reply

actually the warranty of ANY bike is limited to its engine only. As they do not provide any warranty to the other parts of the bike except engine i thought that they will not void the warranty & hence i wanted to verify the same from you guys. Now since the SC guys just search any reason to just void the bike's warranty i didnt wanted to take any kind of risk. Still i will try to find out at the SC & then i will get the rewinding done.Originally posted by kinshuk.arya View Postas long as the svc does not find out about it, the warranty will not be void....

Improper rewinding will hamper the performance of engine and can lead to void of warranty. A rewinded coil can easily be identified (if coil is opened) so there is no question of hiding. BTW whats ur ride on which ur planning the rewinding?Originally posted by madhav krishna View Postactually the warranty of ANY bike is limited to its engine only. FYI not only engine parts, there are many other parts which come under warranty like the ignition coil, cdi unit, digital meter, led tail, battery (rewinding can hamper battery)

I second that, I got replaced twice the CDI unit within 6 months, and the switch gear once. Only the plastic parts like fairing, side cowls, consumables etc will be out of scopeOriginally posted by Shreeni0403 View PostImproper rewinding will hamper the performance of engine and can lead to void of warranty. For a Honda and HH even fairings come under warranty subject to manufacturing defect.Originally posted by sajjt View PostI second that, I got replaced twice the CDI unit within 6 months, and the switch gear once. Only the plastic parts like fairing, side cowls, consumables etc will be out of scope

So what is adviceable..to go for HID or NB?Originally posted by Shreeni0403 View PostThe Night breaker needs more juice from battery when compared to the HID.
Where to get one in Pune? Where did you get it from.
I wish to change the stock buld as I will be covering Mumbai Pune NH4 more often now at night. So the high Beam from the oncoming vehicles are blinding and with stock bulb in FZ, I see my end to near.
Do you have an FZ or what?My Unicorn (its not a DC bike) could run a HID on stock coil/RR. Had no battery draining issues. But with NB I faced the draining a lot until I changed the RR unit.
So as per above HID 35W is better than NB55W/60Originally posted by Shreeni0403 View PostYes, rewinding is not necessary until and unless u think to plonk a 90/100w halogen. HID (35w) consumes less power than NB (55/60w).
Which exactly would be a good deal? Does chinese have warranty? Can't really depend on chinese bulbs..who knows they mite be energy sucking demons...Originally posted by kinshuk.arya View Postthere are many chinese hid available in the market ranging from 1700 for single to 12000rs per pair which are from philips....The Fast and the Curious kind!!!

My only concern is the battery drain issue.Have you installed the HID?Originally posted by Puneet1 View Postgo for a HID ,halogens are no match .there's a seller here selling for 1800 shipped with 6 month warranty sri automotive iirc . fz will sustain a HId easily .
Man... This thing is getting me confused. Some say go for Halogen..and some say go for HID... and my budget is 500-700... any HID possible? Minimum charges for a decent HID?The Fast and the Curious kind!!!
