I have been using Osram NB for my FZ since last 1 year now. The light definitely improves n no effect on battery till now. A worthy investment.

Try the HID, you will never look back for Osram or what ever.Originally posted by ayushkant View PostHi all,
I have recently bought a RE Thunderbird. It has a 12V 55W/60 bulb capacity but currently has a stock bulb of 35W. I have 2 bulbs in my options - Osram NB n Philips Premium. Which of these will be more fruitful for my TB? It has a circular projector.
Go with the HID dude. FZ wont face battery draining issue as its all DC.Originally posted by ankit63 View PostGuys... have anyone of you have installed HID in your FZ16? The headlamp of FZ is not very effective for highway driving. Could any one of you please share the experience.Does it drain too much battery too?

my mech has suggested me to get coil rewinding done to increase the light. I dont want to fit the HID because it can cause a glare in other riders & could lead to an accident & moreover it can be fined by the police also. The mech told me a price of 800 for getting the rewinding done. Is this price ok & would the rewinding do any problems?? Would the rewinding void the bike's warranty??
I am owning a yamaha gladiator.
am asking this question again because i didnt got any replies for my previous post.NOT BEEN THERE NOT DONE THAT

The NB is 55W/60 bulb and available at select stores throughout India. It comes as a single bulb and is a direct fit to all FZs. The bulb costs around 850/-Originally posted by ankit63 View PostThanks ayush,

The NB has a tinge of white light but it's just like any normal light when looked upon from far, so it's not a cop-eye-catcher.

I agree bro. Osram Nightbreaker is far better than the stock 35w bulb what you get. But compare the NB with regular 55/60w halogen, u wont notice its much brighter apart from the color difference which I personally felt is not worth the investment (I have used NB and saying it with my experience).Originally posted by ayushkant View PostThe NB is 55W/60 bulb and available at select stores throughout India. The HID always look better than the normal or NB bulbs. My point was that for NB, no need for projector or coil re-calculations. NB are a direct fit to FZ as they are DC batteries.

The Night breaker needs more juice from battery when compared to the HID.Originally posted by ayushkant View PostThe HID always look better than the normal or NB bulbs. My point was that for NB, no need for projector or coil re-calculations. NB are a direct fit to FZ as they are DC batteries.

My Unicorn (its not a DC bike) could run a HID on stock coil/RR. Had no battery draining issues. But with NB I faced the draining a lot until I changed the RR unit.

That's nice...Originally posted by Shreeni0403 View PostYes, rewinding is not necessary until and unless u think to plonk a 90/100w halogen. HID (35w) consumes less power than NB (55/60w).
Can you name the HID, I mean the brand??Stabl'ised by: BlackCat (FZ-16), BlackBird (ThunderBird)
