i tried hela.they are very good.i was using illuminator serise with 55 watt halogen on my previous scorpio. it was pricy.but i sold all when i sold my scorp last year.in my new scorpio i am using a diff route.i brought hid from navnish, brought 7 inch reflector seal beams which is mounted on a classic pulsars headlight dome.it looks lovely and the most imp part the light output is far far better then hella.i really become sad when i thought of hella any more just for the price product light ratio.
the lights are mounted with custom brackets over the bull bar.the same setup canbe done in tbts in both side or single side crash guards.
i am using similar setup with hid inside in my pulsy.i am using a smaller 5.25 inch light on crash guard

Noway halogens can be close to HID. And 1 HID uses 35w power where as 2 x 55w halogens is 110w. So HID is cheaper solution in terms of price and load on battery as well.

        Hi DRVMTM and Puneet

Thanks for your reply. Can you please post some pic of your bike with the current light setup.Which is the light that you are using on your crash guard and how is the output from it. Will the stock headlight and the small yellow light on the crash guard do the job?

Yellow light on the crash guard and HID kit- how feasible it is and how the output will be?

You can go with 4300k HID's which Navnish provides in Bangalore. The best HID's so far available.
Guys am testing out a external HID on a bullet . Will let you guys know how it works.

            • 55/60W bulb on GS150R

              Hi guys,

I have a suzuki GS150R. Since the stock headlights/reflector is really not upto the mark, was following this thread to get some solution. Finally decided to try out Osram Silverstar 55/60 bulb (cost INR210 @ GP road, chennai). Have disconnected the 2 pilots (2x5W) and put in the new bulb today. (Am not into bike mods much and so not sure of trying out a HID/ having the coil rewound yet )

Clearly, the light is a little dimmer than before when idling, but brightness is significantly more at 3k rpm and above with the new bulb.

Wished to know from the experienced users on the forum on any issues to watch out for in this set-up, i.e running 55/60 W bulb when the power available is likely to be 45W only. Any issues if I use the lights say for 2-3 hours continuously or while using dipper..

I drove in city for about half an hour today using the lights - no effect noticed on indicators/horn etc..

              Thanks

              Srinivas

                Hi Navnish

If you can let me know about the External HID kit for Thunderbird Twinspark , It will be of great help.

How good is the fog lamps in the normal roads?
How good is the HID kit in the fogy weather?

                Regards

                    • my mech has suggested me to get coil rewinding done to increase the light. I dont want to fit the HID because it can cause a glare in other riders & could lead to an accident & moreover it can be fined by the police also. The mech told me a price of 800 for getting the rewinding done. Is this price ok & would the rewinding do any problems?? Would the rewinding void the bike's warranty??

                          • Light for TB?

                            Hi all,

I have recently bought a RE Thunderbird. It has a 12V 55W/60 bulb capacity but currently has a stock bulb of 35W. I have 2 bulbs in my options - Osram NB n Philips Premium. Which of these will be more fruitful for my TB? It has a circular projector.
