            • Hello guys,

I am looking to add auxilary lights for my 180 UG4 with 55W bulbs. I will be using 2 Halogens with round headlamp and fully seperate wiring + switches, and mounting will be done on crash guards. Now, the concern is the power drawn together from the 2 55W bulbs will be 110W, Will in stock condition the battery go dead?? From my algebra I can calculate like:

The stock battery is 12V 9Ah. So, it can serve 9*12 = 108W of power per hour?? I maybe wrong as I am a no hardcore electronics guy. With pilot lamps, horn, LCD backlight consumption will be between 110-125W.

How can I upgrade the charging capacity of alternator or stator coil?? What more mods will need tobe done apart from rewinding???

              Thanks.

ur bike is charging handicapped.only 4 amps max charging.no way it can pull 2 55 watts .not even a single 55/60 bulb can be used.only way to do this,is coil rewinding and rr change.or use p 220s coil +wiring+rr but only one 55 watt can be achived if oem 220 setupi s used.

Is it interchangeable? P220 coil to P150/180? Have u tried?

He is correct, ur stock charging rates are very low to meet the requirements. U need to upgrade the stator and the RR to dream of it.

you need to change the outer casing the metal one+magnet+some other small stuff but its possible...

zmr is having a huge 18 pole stator capable of pumping 180+watts.
55/60 is a direct fit and will not melt reflector.however its recommended to use relays for better performance. intelligence in putting the relay will be fine and not void the warranty.

Have u tried that? I cant belive that it will match even with a new stator cover and magnet. What do think of the RR? P220's got a 3 phase alt, not a direct bolt on job AFAIK.

Be always with a cost effective and practical one yar. It will cost u a bomb compared to coil rewinding. Not worth at all.

Whats the stock spec Hope its 55W AFAIK. Then u dont need any relays as u r just changing the brand. If its 35W and u dont want to put relays then forget the idea. Without a relay 55W can do a considerable damage to the switches in DC and eventually u'll void the warranty in due course. If u r a dare devil to try that go ahead.

                            • Guys i am planning to change the headlight bulb to Osram NB in my FZ16...

                              1) Is there any problem doing that?
                              2) Any battery issues?
                              3) Which model is suitable for FZ16?
                              4) Is it really worth it changing to NB?

its a direct bolt on on p 200s and newer gen 180s. rr is 3 phase and yes you need to change a lot when doing this ,but possible...

i said its possible, but i will not recommend it as the cost is huge and the performence will be lower then ape rr+coil rewinding.

the ape mini trucks reflector unit costs a whopping 2200+tax.the reason its having a leveling device.but the product is top notch with excellent light throw.
