The HID bulb is bit flickering, and I am confident it is not because of the battery, because all other battery operations like horn, indicators etc work perfectly. Also, the flickering seems random, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I have one question for electronics experts:

In this HID, the bulb is moving Up and Down, rather than forward and backward. For this, the upper and dipper wires are both connected together to the red wire coming from battery. My question is, will it impact the current flown to either of them? This connection is in parallel, so 1/r = 1/r1 + 1/r2. I think somehow this is affecting the bulb flickering, and not the battery.

Please see the attached crude image.
If you have connected the HID kit on your battery directly and connected to the Relay to your existing wiring harness the flickering will be there as the relay is not getting constant voltage . One more guy had a Simliar thing on his pulsar and he had the same issue.Later he changed to a full dc setup and it works well.

    • Navnish, can you please guide me how to do it, not necessarily on GS but in General? I don't want to mess with the wiring systems, as there is no one in Mumbai/Pune who does wiring reliably.

Also, I read people used 470uf 35v capacitor for this flickering problem. Any headsup for this?

Flickering of HID is just bcz of ur batt is almost down and it wont help if u fix even with a 10000uf cap. U need to boost the charging rate dude, no other way. Caps will store the power just like batt but only for some time after that they will discharge, if the batt is discharging how come a cap will get charged always. UR BATT IS UNDER CHARGING FOR AN HID period.

OMG! Just look at the amount of light its producing. Do you even need to switch on the headlights? Doesnt it produce glare to the oncoming traffic?
You can only ride better tomorrow if you ride safe today.

It is 4300k and decent... The 6000K(blue) LEDs are irritating.. Any way let me take a feedback

LEDs use very little power , .2 to 2 watts max for brighter SMD based ones . no effect on battery even if you have them on always .

                            • help

Guys, I need some help. I was trying to measure the charging current at which the battery is charged. To do that I removed the negative terminal of the battery (i couldnt remove the bolts to remove the + ve). Then connected the + ve of multimeter to the - ve of battery and connected the disconnected wire to the - ve of multimeter. Then selected dc current at 10A. The reading I got at idle was 0.32 and fluctuating. When revved it increased to around 0.52. I have a 9 ampere battery and at 10% the charging rate should be at 0.90 right? So am I doing something wrong here? I dont have those clips like you see on a battery for the multimeter. It has two needles and had to touch it with my hands to get the reading. I tried to lower the current to 200m and the reading was only 1. Please help. Raj

just do it with the positive terminal, not negetive terminal.
