Since there are 2 H4 35W bulbs and the light Output is not great for Night Riding or in Rains, I wanted something better with the same wattage rating as I don't want to strain my Battery. Last few pages were a discussion of Philips Xtreme, Night Vision bulbs, etc., I thought something will be available for 35W.Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostYes,No options for a 35W bulb.
I guess I can go for 35W HIDs(H4-2 or H4-3)
Please suggest

HID's are better option. Go in for 4300K color temp H4 HID.Originally posted by Prakritij View PostI Ride a Yamaha R15. For quick fix, I have done following -->
On highBeam, I have replaced 35 W bulb with 55 W Philips Premium, H4 type. 80 Rs.
For precautions:
1. I disconnected pilot bulbs to save 10 W.
2. Uses it only when I am riding above 4K RPM, otherwise use low beam only.
am pretty happy with it.
I hope you already know, how easy is it to adjust Headlight beam by screws given near handleBar.
try it.. cost effective good sollution..

for pilot lamps I use 2W SMD LEDs
Thinking of changing the Tail lamp to LED too
After that I maybe able to use the Philips Premium bulb you mentioned at lower RPMs too

well.. you can very well use 55W at any RPM or even stand still as well.. only a thought in back of your mind, that its drawing battery 20W(after removing pilot lamp) more than what yamaha thought.. so just being a bit cautious, thats it.. no hard calculations..
and I never ride R15 at below 4K RPM.. and in city traffic JAM you won't require high beam, now would you

Remove the existing ones and fit the new ones and you are Good to go
If they don't come on just reverse the polarity by turning the Bulbs and fit them

LED Pilot Lamp and Tail Lamp for TBTS
Guys I am also interested in fitting SMD led bulbs in my TBTS as pilot lamp and tail lamp. The bulbs available on ebay are straight fit or some modifications needed for TBTS pilot lamp and tail lamp holder ? Also what kind of bulb should I buy ? wedge type or normal bulb base type ?Last edited by anindyameister; 09-14-2011, 06:50 PM.
