    Hi Bro

Yeah I do remember someone in the rtr thread stating that they were using a led bar. Reason i wasnt looking at these types was because i thought they were basically flood light(I am looking only for spot beams ).

Could you confirm if the one you have projects light far enough to be used at high speed runs on the highway?

Yes these are basically floodlights. Not good for high speed because they are basically useful for dipper or short distance throw. For high speed the best is headlight. Upper has to be the best. I am using Philip Extreme vision which is good for high speed highway run. Next can be an upgrade to LED HID light which i have heared are very good and low on power consumption. I have completed 9800kms and only 1 free service is remaining so after that maybe will try this upgrade of LED HID.

Well thats why I am not looking at light bars. The ones that can be used as spot beams or better yet Combo light beams are extremely expensive even for cars (much less bikes).
I dont want to fiddle with my electronics so not doing anything drastic to the headlight.

Dont think there is anything like an LED HID brother (they are two different tech) ...think you meant a LED Projector setup which I admit would be a good upgrade if done properly.

So the best upgrade as of now would be headlight bulb to either Osram nightbreaker or Philips Extreme Vision. Very good for High speed run.
The LED HID which i am talking about the as per the below link (Maybe its only LED Headlight with ballast)

Vheelocityin M3 30W Bike Motorcyle Scooter LED Headlight Bulb Kit 6 Months WarrantyFor Honda CB Hornet 160R: Amazon.in: Car & Motorbike

There are other brands also on Aliexpress.com which can be couried to India.

Ok thanks dude. When i looked up these bulbs in online videos i didn't see a lot of improvement with these headlights. They are there for sure but it didn't seem to worth calling an upgrade. Perhaps i will take a second look at it.

Yeah the link you provided is just the LED (don't understand why it requires a ballast..is the starting voltage for the LED high? Not really sure. Only seen LED with heatsinks) . Just the LED wouldn't be worth much. You would need a projector along with it.

And the photo in that pic seems to be greatly exaggerated . This is why i don't want to buy from small unknown brands but the famous ones just seem to be too costly.

Lets see if i buy one, i will update you surely if it is good or not. For projector setup, we will have to open the headlight casing which might be the problem. Lets see. Will keep you updated.

These bulbs are of no use. I have tested around 10 different models of LED h4 / h7 lamps the 6000k give around 1200LM of light with around 65-70CRI which is of no use. If you want a good LED bulb you will need to go for a 4200K bulb with 80CRI which very few manufacturers make.

The LED bulb doesn't have a ballast. That is the driver box.

I have checked with yamaha svc regarding installation of the Projector setup for FZ FI. answers he gave were not encouraging and confused me more.

Can someone please clarify these questions?

                        2) does installation cause warranty issues? i am close to completing 2 years and have taken additional warranty paying 777 rs, please advice.

                        3) what would teh best projector setup for yamaha fz?

                        4) I am from hyderabad, and request some best place/person to get it done. please suggest.

sorry if these questions were already answered, i have search the forum, but coudlnt get answers specific to my question, hope someone replies this time.

As part of my efforts to increase the light output from my rtr200 i have gone and purchased the philips extreme vision h4. However, the bulb i received was two years old. Since I am not sure about it can someone here advise on whether this will cause any issues with the longevity of the bulb.

If so i can get the thing replaced.

                            Thanks for the help.

Although late, these are my views for your questions.

                              1. Yes and No, As far as i know there are different rating bulbs which can be used in Projector setup, based on that it may load or overload your battery.

                              2. Usually a proper HID Projector installation is not a plug and play, so there are few steps which can alter the original settings. Based on these alterations the showroom can void your bike warranty.

3 & 4 i dont have much knowledge on this.

If you are not satisfied with your light output, you can check the alignment of the light and try adjusting it to get proper illumination on road, Many times a improper alignment or adjustment will give you worst output of a head light.
If not satisfied, got with extreme vision/night breaker kind of bulbs which will have a better illumination than the stock bulb.
If still not interested then go with aux lights(Cheaper than HID) or HID which will give you the best illumination.

My take will be going with Auxiliary lights, as its easier and cheaper than HID. you can always rely on your original light in case aux fails for any reason at the wrong time.

I will not be too bothered with the mfg date unless it has an expiry date. Coming to the longevity of the bulb, no one can assure it. I have purchased few bulbs which was like glowing for years, and some got fused relatively sooner. So do not worry too much and start using it.

Straight off, I am not impressed with the headlights. My daily commute has a few areas where there is a lack of street lights and in these stretches, all I can see is the glare from oncoming traffic. The road in front of me is not visible under my headlights (Reflective markings along the edge of the road are a boon).

I am hence planning to upgrade to a HID with projector setup, and I have a few questions regarding that.

                                1. Could you suggest any good stores in Bangalore where I can get the same installed. (Preferably around Marathahalli)

                                2. What are the legal limitations? Are HIDs allowed?

                                3. Should I go with 35 or 55w HID? (Can my bike support 55w?)

                                4. How much difference does the projector make, compared to just installing an HID bulb in the regular bulb socket.

                                My budget is around 2k.
                                Thanks in advance.
