Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Dear Bobi, if I remember correctly, Hornet is not having full DC setup. What else can be done for this, can we add additional Led as Creek/ spot/ driving lights which are directly connected to battery and with a on/Off switch it will work only when motorcycle is on.Originally posted by bobisbacktorock View Post

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
First step is to convert the motorcycle to full DC. Then do rest of the things like LED or HID up-gradation.Originally posted by NainHardeep View PostDear Bobi, if I remember correctly, Hornet is not having full DC setup. Reliable Bi-Xenon HID Projector Links Online?
Guys,
Im looking for a pair of Bi-xenon HID projectors, not very expensive, single one should be under 3k.
I've been looking for these for weeks and i have to say there are millions of them online, ranging from 1k to 3k(cheap ones of course
). But its almost impossible to choose one, mainly because lack of user feedback or information on the product.
so, if you have already bought one and if you're happy with its performance/quality, could you help me out with the link? And only Indian sites please, as my current card will not work with paypal.
Thanks a lot

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Hi fellas,
Few days ago, I went a long ride 1.2K KMs on my bull.
The headlight of bull is good and more than enough for my regular rides.
But during the trip, I happened to ride through thick forest and almost no road and street lights at ~10. The ride was solo, so felt like an adventurus ride with minimum visiblity
So I need to improve lighting.
Plan is to set up auxiliary lights.
I am confused
Should I go for Flood or spot light?
How will a 48W LED looks?? for me and the on coming traffic

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Has anyone used 100/90 W halogen in stock Duke 200 set up? 100/90 would draw close to 9 Amps while the stock 60/55 draws only 5 Amps, but the coil produces enough juice to handle the power demand, I guess and I can draw a separate line to handle 9 Amps, with a relay and a ceramic H4 holder. The question is, would the reflector be able to handle the heat, of around 200 degree Celsius?

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
NO, it wouldn't. Never use 90/100 in bikes or cars as it would damage the reflector and in time, it will start throwing way less light than stock.Originally posted by leorcid View PostHas anyone used 100/90 W halogen in stock Duke 200 set up? 100/90 would draw close to 9 Amps while the stock 60/55 draws only 5 Amps, but the coil produces enough juice to handle the power demand, I guess and I can draw a separate line to handle 9 Amps, with a relay and a ceramic H4 holder. Thank you, brother. I was almost inclined to test it out after buying a new set. The headlight I have has a little dent, so...Originally posted by Skanda View PostNO, it wouldn't. Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
By bulb, you mean a HID or Halogen? If it's HID Projector and bulb you are referring to, then OSRAM seems to be brighter from some of the tests done by TRS. You would be good with some of the Morimoto or Yeaky Chinese bulbs which are good and priced less as well.Originally posted by Sourav1o1 View PostNeed suggestions for a light bulb which would be a good match for a projector lens setup,i have shortlisted two bulbs one is osram nightbreaker unlimited and the other is phillips xtream vision, please suggest a 55w bulb.Live to Ride!

Actually the bike has a stock projector setup but the halogen inside it is not working,so looking for a better halogen bulb, please suggest me something that would be good with the projector lens and keep in mind that i want a bright light that would help increase visibility while riding at night.Originally posted by Skanda View PostBy bulb, you mean a HID or Halogen? Bajaj Discover 100m. Charger coil rewinding and high power headlight installation
Hello
My first post on here. From what I've read I think xbhp has the most diy type individuals around.
So basically I am a med student in bengal. I own a disco 100m. First experience of a bike. Have ridden it like a maniac, numerous crashes as I learnt riding a bike first time on it. I was an idiot about bikes and their engines. Frankly its an awesome bike. Have done 300+ kms trip on it in single day at constant speeds of 80+kmph and is my daily commute for college also.
Sometimes when driving at night faced horrendous difficulties with headlamps as stock ones r very weak. So bought dis led projector for 1100 from Amazon. Was a bloody waste since light is now worse. Have bought highpower 100w led. Main issue is how to power it. Since it takes 32volts. So bought dc boost converter. Now again I cud eidr power it wid lipo battery as a carryon or cud get rewinded charger coil. I just need some info with any pix before I open it up. Also I have seen a very robust and easy diy Rr Box on instructabl website. So guys any idea about how many poles and length of 18swg wire I will need.

Re: Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
So somehow the high beam
Bulb of my KTM RC390 has stopped working since yesterday and it's been difficult riding. Like, today Morning in this dark winter weather.
I'm thinking of upgrading to something better than stock bulb. (No super expensive thing).
Any recommendations??
Also, I'm thinking about a bit whitish light. Anyone using such?
(I'm well aware of the Kelvins and how they work in dark, winter and fog).First I was Scared But then We Made a Deal
