On the contrary bajaj's first attempt was pulsar150/pulsar180.. Look what they have done in 10 years.. Competition is trying hard to find answers to pulsar.. With all their refinement , reliability and technology.
the issue is going somewhere else, lets end the discussion and let anirrban decide himself what he thinks is the best, i would recommend him test drive his shortlisted vehicles and make a poll, that would be the best option for him, but as you said you are seeing some fiero's doing rounds in ur locality all i said was what is the ratio of the present running bikes to then their sales.

I would say at regular intervals and at a much lesser cost than a Honda/Yamaha vehicle (coz spares are damn cheap..especially compared to Honda).

u can compare it to buying a chinese phone, everyone knows it'll go kaput in a couple of years but for ppl who can't afford a nokia, it's their best bet....
Let me quote the OTR price of various bike in Kochi,Kerala
          150CC segments

          P150 dtsi-67,XXX
          FZ-73.5K
          Hunk-72K
          Xtreme-67,XXX
          CB Unicorn-68,475
          CB Dazzler-72,500

          180CC segment

          A180-74.5K
          P180-73.5K

          220cc+ segment

          Zma-82k
          P220-86.5K

In 150cc segment almost 2~3k difference between others,if one tends to spent about ~70k,why he cant choose any other machine by spending merely 2K.Still p150 is the best selling machine in its class.
Look out the p220,4.5k rs more than bullet proof reliable Zma,still p220 outruns Zma in sales.

Do u buy Chinese phone which is overpriced than nokia having the same features ?FYI nokia is also manufactured in china.Bro please be gentle on ur words,we didn't get our bikes by the sake of someone nor it is given as complement gift while buying a shirt or trouser.

Long 9 years, pulsars are best sellers in 150CC+ segments.Do u think they can fool the Indian customers for these 9 years?

U are not a fan,but u may be an owner of a Honda/Yamaha,it has been seen this thread that people owing Jap bikes have a superior feeling that the Indian bikes are good for nothing,if u can look on to various threads u can understand it.we all know that bajaj bikes are not better than these Japanese giants, but i am trying to say that is is not far way behind.

According to these peoples bajaj guys had put a sludge jacket around the bikes piston which is associated with a timer. After one year, timer will get clicked and the sludge jacket will burst out and begin to ruin ur bike`s piston.
Lucky me,they had forgotten to put the sludge jacket in my previous bikes.so i used my P150 dtsi for 6years and 68K kms without any complaint.I am also praying same for my P220.

True in most cases. Well AFAIK & even if you ask the local mechanics they would say that the older pulsars were far more reliable than the present ones. Especially those in middle generation (the one with analog console & Gas charged shocks)
Hey why are u asking some local mechanics?Ask some genuine owners about the bike.its ug 1,2,3,4.... not dg 1,2,3,4..U can ride different version side by side and can analysis how they are improved.newer models are far more better than older ones.

Yes buddy.. but if someone is just ranting along without any reason.. and spreading wrong info here in the forum, we should be correcting him and his false assumptions. Frankly..stuff like comparing Pulsar with Chinese phone is soooo ignorant.. in that case even CBZ xtreme, Unicorn, Apache are pretty much in the same range.. just writing something for the sake of it won't do.. that too when you are suggesting someone else.. better be accurate with the information given.

                Yeah

Not All but it was set in to many indians mind set that Indian automobile products arent up to the mark of their expectation, But at the same time either its Bajaj or TVS the technology as well as the product quality needs to be improved faster.

the good thing is Bajaj is actually trying to catch up faster, and i don't need to tell about the rest. as you know already...

here am not telling the product quality is bad but it needs to be improved.

Because Jap manufacturers are in automobile industry before it started in india. in other hand our two wheeler manufactures are not kids they are also in the industry for more than or close to 30+ years

So finally in terms of development in technology comparing to Jap and rest of the world its clear that we are lagging far behind.

note: this is my point of view, i will feel sorry if it hurts some xbhpians.

Hmmm.. good way of contradicting yourself.

FYI, I dint made that statement by just consulting a few mechanics. I have asked a lot of owners also. The newer models are fuel efficient & powerful but the problems associated with the older gen pulsars were far less.

+1 Thats right instead of going and asking 50 ppl you can ask a local mechanic because.

He is the one who touches all the bikes from a to z company or from 50 cc to 500 cc thats why he is the one who knows better.

He is the one who cares the bikes which are not take care well by the company service center

and he doesn't need to lie to a good existing customer.

A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)
