  • Confused between RTR and Fz

    Crisp throttle response.

2)Performance,and ability to withstand throttle happy riding habits for longer duration

    3)Handling when pushed around corners.

4)Braking performance.( bite, progressive feel of the brakes and stability under hard braking)

5)if we go for RTR how much reliable is the TVS engine?

We would like to know which of these bikes score more in your book in these departments..

PS: looks and fuel economy are not in our criteria.

For ur requirements The Apache definetly fits perfectly

APACHE - its Much more powerful ,has Rtr n Fi ,2 Petal disks ,great handling n leaning (check some reviews) ,more gadgetry like lap timers ,0-60 times ,top speed checker

negative - tyres not very good n can skid a bit in rains

Fz16 -fatter tyres , good torque ,different looking bike(kinda like classic pulsar)

negative -performnace , its a new bike so yet to prove its worth on the streets , mileage not that good due to fatter tyre (its lesser than Efi) ,rear seat too small

RTR Fi is the way acc.to your needs.but highly doubt the quality of TVS engines .reason being I had 2002 suzuki fiero and my pal got "tvs" fiero later .but his tvs made fiero is getting heated and pulling is definitely low.afaik apache is almost fiero engine ?

OTOH ,yamaha gave less head aches as a ex-yam rx100 owner
        Get GNU/Linux

If you ask me, I would personally recommend the FZ; briliiant looks coupled with the name 'Yamaha' - that says it all!

hey .. somethings is telling me that you guys are intrested in apache ..
well according to me RTR carb is excelent ... nothing matches its performance in <200 cc segment ..
about the engine .. well i puerly think that it is based on maintanence ..
.. no engine gives an expire date ..
how you ride and how you maintain decides the life of the bike ..
if i were you i would go for RTR-FI

ps- have you seen the rear sear of FZ 16 .. i am sure no human being can sit behind that

FZ to go great looks. And again Yamaha are reviving themselves with this bike they cant do any blunder this time.

RTR is better, as far as seat size is it depends on size of rider. After lot of chikchik Yamaha dealer allowed me to sit on FZ on his display and for me it looked like a single seater

In the long run practicability matters, you might opt for a tight-fit jeans, but you'll soon try to avoid it, coz it ain't comfortable...

Regarding their revival strategy, it doesn't mean their offering won't be error-free.... it's all trial and error methodology, if it works out, it would benefit the future consumers... Just like BAL, they brought out Pulsar V.1, which had issues, but it's decent success led to further refinement and better product-DTSi, but the initial buyers had to feel the brunt.

If you have the money, wanna try the luck, want eye-balls rollin', go for FZ16. If you aren't willing to stake go for something which already is there in the market for a while.... But, with global brands like Yamaha, their products have already been tested in different other markets and finally they brought out in India, so I highly doubt if anything should be wrong. As a matter of fact, I'd consider Yamaha's engine more reliable than TVS.. (Ghar ki murgi daal barabar )

If you're solely into stunting with single riding, I say FZ16... if you are not much into stunting, and would have pillions at times, Apy to go for.

I would always recommend an RTR for a throttle friendly bike

The FZ is more of Unicorn killer, not really something as exciting as my RTR!

Sure Yamaha's quality of parts is good but they need constant maintenance to work properly. It wouldnt be the first time that Yamaha messes it up with a new product. Have the original Gladiator for quite some time now,God its a niggling little *beep*.
That said I would be lying if I said I didnt trust the FZ. I myself have been looking for a replacement for my P200 and have shortlisted these two for me.
I will be going for the RTR FI if it's comfortable for my height.(6 feet).

Good joke man. FYI its a variant of the Fiero engine. The apache shares the same platform of the fiero.
