experts shed some light on this.....would be useful for future buyers....
theres a person in orkut who rectified the problem ..
it seems that there is a hole in the air box which was choucking the bike ..
the tvs people now know how to solve it .. so cheers

the engine of the APACHE RTR FI behaves in a strange manner when ridden in the 2000-3000 rpm area, the engine idles rock study at 1400 rpm( thanks to the DELPHI ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM),but after that it misses till 3000 RPM,though this disappears when the bike is cold and the moment the bike regains its operating temperature the engine starts to miss again, this is experienced when the throttle is not opened sharply and the input is given on the slight and on the progressive basis...

This is not because of the spark plug as i experienced this with the other FI's too(mine is 60km old),i've changed the spark plug with the NGK IRIDIUM twin electrode one(original supplyed is bosche twin electrode also)...

may be the engine management system is not gettin the inputs from the throttle when its open slightly and is not supplyin the data correctly...
it can be DELPHI ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM designed for sudden inputs cuz with that the bike revs to its 12000 RPM!!!! celeing with power not trailing off till 11000 RPM!!!!!!!!

      I simply LOVE that.....

no Airbox? i dont get you ...every bike irrespective of fi or carb will have an air box which has the air filter... what you talking about?

well i got it today only........
              it's located after the airfilter,
airbox (also known as powerbox) is not the thing where the airfilter is situated bro its a little box where the filtered air is stored which compliments the sudden throttle inputs......
improves the throttle responce makin it far more crisp......

sorry to tell but u need to brush up a lil more on ur technical knowledge, air box is the box that contains the air filter. and the power box which u mention is called a intake resonator and is located perpendicular to the intake flow btwn the carb and intake port

OTOH ,yamaha gave less head aches as a ex-yam rx100 owner

your friend had a TVS fiero or TVS fiero F2

listen to your heart and buy bike which is most appealing to you

both bikes are good untill you respect it
how important it is to feel strong,
                        rather than just being strong.
