Well the apache has a rev-happy engine and loves to be trashed - if your riding style is hard, and involves revving the engine till the red line -then the RTR would suit you.Does not mean that it cannot be ridden sedately..
The FZ (according to almost all the reviews) favors a riding style that emphasizes on using the power band(especially the lower and mid range-The various bike tests say that the engine looses steam after say 7500 RPM).The engine is designed for torque and and not outright top-end performance. I have not test ridden the FZ so I cannot say to what extent this effect will be felt. There is also the possibility that the throttle response of the Yamaha may be so good that you might feel that the bike has more power than it actually has.
The price: If price is not your concern you can go for the FZ..Its a YAMAHa and u can be assured of good build quality and reliability. The price is only a small premium above other 150 cc and IMO is justified ..BUt neverthless not that the RTR is by itself, great value for money.
Take into consideration the comfort levels of both the bikes also. This should be important if u plan to do some touring or even if u commute a long distance
Final word: Take a test ride of both the bikes.Only a test ride can clear all your doubts with regard to handling, throttle response and general nature of the engine .weigh the pros and cons and make your decision.I dont think you can go wrong in choosing either of these brilliant machines.
P.S>
Had the FZ been fitted with and engine that produces 15 BHp and 15 NM of torque(yeah more is never enough :P).I would have blindly gone for the FZ without a shred of doubt-because other things like handling, throttle response etc. would have invariably been taken care of by YAMAHA...

Anyhow,

.. once again thank you to all of you.
